History Of
Company C
819th Tank Destroyer Battalion
As a founding member of C Company, 819th TD, I was the communications chief from the start June '42 to deactivation in September 1945.

I received training in Fort Knox with the 5th Armored Division until forming part of the Cadre in Camp Chaffee in June 1942. Beside radio communications, I had to learn semphone in a hurry, teach it the next day, go from wireless telegraph to voice communications over nite. Break in all new people in the communications field. Finished up a Staff Sergeant in '45.
