2000 Reunion
I'm very happy to report that the hosts for our 2000 reunion will be Don and Betty Scherer (Rcn Co), Don & Aggie Fox (B Co), and eno and Mary Jane Cavallo (A Co). As you will remember Dan and Lois Trevarrow (Rcn Co) had agreed to host this reunion but with Dan's very sudden passing the Scherers, the Foxes and the Cavallos graciously came forward and volunteered to take over where Dan had left off. We already have some of the details to report. The dates will be SEPT. 29 - OCT 1st, 2000. You will see that these dates are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, instead of the Sunday through Tuesday. They were quoted rates of $69.00 a night at the Royce Hotel which is the same hotel we were in before. It is located adjacent to the airport and the hotel has a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. The banquet will be on Sunday night. I'll include all the pertinent details in the March News Letter. Just mark your calander now with the dates: Sept. 29 - Oct 1st, 2000.

The reunion will be held at the Best Western Eden Resort Inn & Conference Center at 222 Eden Road, Rts 30 & 272, Lancaster, PA 17601. Room rates will be $77.00 per night for a single or a double. Reservations can be made by calling 717-569-6444 or 800-528-1234 or Fax 717-569-4208. Be sure to mention that you are with the 819th TD Bn reunion. If reservations are received early enough we have been assured we will be placed in a Block which will put us all in the same general area.
The Eden Resort is situated in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, and just a few miles from Lancaster. Lancaster has it's own airport (USAir) and train station and Warren will arrange to pick up anyone coming in either of these places provided he knows in advance you estimated time of arrival.
Warren and Doris are arranging to have a seperate mailing of a brochure with maps and points of interest that should be of much help to everyone. If you haven't received your copy in due time please contact Warren and he will re-mail a copy - we don't want to miss anyone.
This is a very scenic and historic area and there willbe plenty to do and see so come prepared to do some moving around but there will be plenty of easy chairs at the htel for those who prefer just "chewing the fat" and refighting the "big war".
The BANQUET will be on Tuesday evening, Sept. 28. You have your choice of either beef or chicken, all at the same price of $22.00 per person - this includes tax and gratuity. BANQUET CHECKS SHOULD BE MAILED TO WARREN BEACH, 344 NEWTON ROAD, WARMINSTER, PA 18974. Please use the form provided in the last News Letter when sending in your banquet reservations - if you don't have it just be sure to list all those who will be in your party so we know exactly who will be there.
