A virtual airline is an airline that comes up with a real world airline
name or makes one up. The most important objective for a VA is to provide as real a real airline atmosphere as possible, providing a pilot with useful information and skills on practice of being in a real airline. So that when the day you apply for a real airline comes you will be prepared. There are many ways a VA manager will opperate their VA. After a VA has accepted the application from the pilot, they will setup a flight check to see what your flying capabilities are. These test are usually not very hard. During the flight check you will be asked to perform some basic aircraft exercises. Once the check flight has been completed and reviewed, the hub manager will have the pilot to place a flight bid. A flight bid is the requesting of a certian flight the pilot wants to fly. As a beginner the pilot may not get that flight but the pilot would get an assigned flight. The way to get a desired flight is to accumulate a lot of flight time or hours.
When a pilot completes a desired flight or assigned flight they will need to E-mail a flight log to his or her hub manager. The purpose of a flight log is to record the pilots flight hours and to show that the pilot did that flight. You will be asked to do a minimum of one flight per day. Every now and then we will ask the pilot to send a copy of their log book in flight simulator to update their flight time. If you don't know how to start a log book just E-Mail AmTran Support. A pilot can be promoted at any time to another level. Most VA's promote pilots according to flight time. Here at AmTran Airways we promote you for your flight time and you will also be promoted by your effort and willingness to do things for other employees. Thanks for reading the whole page. If you still have some questions just E-Mail AmTran Support and we will answer your questions and comments within 48 hours.
