Troubleshooting
1. Check that the problem is not network related
2. Modem Connection Checklist: Verify that the power supply is connected to the modem and is plugged into the wall power receptacle.
Verify that the telephone cable is connected from the LINE connector at the back of the modem to a POTS splitter or to the network jack if POTS service is not provided.
Verify that the 10BaseT cable is connected from the ETHERNET connector at the Back of the modem to the
interface on the CPE equipment (for example, the Ethernet card in the PC). A crossover cable may be
required when connecting to other equipment, such as an Ethernet hub.
3. Powercycle Procedure:
Remove the power adapter cable from the DSL modem and turn the power switch to the "off" position.(At this
point it is usually a good idea to check and verify the customer's network control panel and then cold boot the PC)
Turn the power switch ON. The SYS LED lights steady.
Observing the SYS LED, ensure that the power self-test completes successfully, and that the ADSL modem is
synchronized with the ADSL line card at the other end of the circuit. It may take up to 70 seconds for the ADSL modem to synchronize with the ADSL line card. The DSL LED lights a solid Green to show that the unit is
synchronized.
Verify proper wiring to the NIC by steady illumination of the ENET LED.
During use, the ATM and ENET LED illuminates whenever data is being transmitted or received.
