Image 6: Relay bank. This is where the electrical proving, control and interlocking is done. It is not really as complicated as it looks but there are a fair few bits o' wire involved! This photo shows the wire side of the rack where the relay sockets are wired directly into the signalbox 'wiring loom' connecting to everything from complex timed interlocking to signal lamp indicators. The relays are fitted on the other side of the rack, the side of one relay can be seen to the upper left of the picture through the empty section of rack. To the lower right of the rack you can see one of the transformers for the 110V circuits bolted to a shelf.
