Seven years ago we adopted our first exotic parrot. We had no idea what adventures lay ahead of us. These wonderful creatures are a joy to share your life with as long as you are prepared to make the commitment.
Don't Cry for the Parrots
Don't cry for the parrots that life has set free,
a million feathered angels forever to be.
Don't cry for the parrots now in God's hand,
as they fly and they flutter in a heavenly band.
They were ours as a gift, but never to keep,
as they close their eyes forever to peacefully sleep.
Their spirits unbound, on silver wings they fly,
a million feathered angels against the blue sky.
Look up into Heaven, you'll see them above,
the parrots we lost, the parrots we loved.
Wings and tails flowing, they flutter through time.
They were never yours, they were never mine.
Don't cry for the parrots, they'll be back someday,
when our time is gone, they will show us the way.
Do you hear that soft chatter? Close to your ear?
Don't cry for the parrots, love the ones that are here.
