Welcome to  Our web site.

My Flock consists of Poombah the African Grey Parrot.  Chamois the Shamrock Macaw and Bobbie the Sun Conure. An honorary member of the flock is Jessie the Australian Shepherd.

Our first parrot was Bobbie. He came to live with us nine years ago. Bobbie owns Barbee and spends most of his time riding around with her. He climbs down the front of Barbee's shirt and then pokes his head out of the collar.

Poombah came to live with us four years ago. She is the princess of the house hold. She is also known as Princess Poo. Poombah owns Jim and is never slow in reminding her humans who is the boss.

Chamois is our newest addition. She has been with us for about a two years. She is certainly the most challenging of the three. If Chamois wants attention, everyone for three blocks around knows about it.
The closest description of Chamois having a temper tantrum is  to imagine a semi truck locking up it's brakes and blowing its air horn at the same time :-)

For those of you visiting this web site that are interested in owning a large exotic parrot, here are a few words of advice.
A parrot should never be purchased or adopted on impulse. They take a lot of care, are fairly expensive to maintain and they need a lot of attention.  The larger parrots such as the Macaw can live to be 80 years old or more. Bringing a parrot into the family is a lifetime commitment and should never be taken lightly.

Things to consider:
Do you have the room?
Do you have sufficient financial means?
Do you have the time?
Are you willing to commit to the life span of the bird?
Are you willing to put up with the noise?
Are you willing to put up with the mess?

If you can answer yes to these questions, then do your homework and find the right parrot for yourself and be prepared to enjoy a wonderful experience with your new family member.

Parrots are extremely intelligent creatures. They need the mental stimulation of a young child. Many experts in the Avian field claim that parrots have the intelligence of a 2 to 3 year old child. After having lived with my flock, I would certainly agree.

I hope you enjoy your visit and be sure to check out the photo album.
