Definitions
SERIOUS BODILY INJURY
Major broken bones (head, neck, spine, ribs, legs & arms); A gaping (widely opened or separated) wound; Damage to internal organs (eyes, lungs, kidneys, spleen, trachea, heart, brain & groin); Injury which would necessitate a prolonged hospital stay or cause a marked decrease in the permanent quality of life.
MINOR BODILY INJURY
Minor broken bones (fingers, toes, hands, feet, nose & jaw); Sprains, scrapes, contusions (bruise without breaking the skin); Cuts to the skin; Damage to the teeth or hair.
DEADLY FORCE
Force that is designed to Immediately Stop Serious Bodily Injury, or death.
Force which, under the circumstances in which it is used, is readily capable of causing death or serious bodily injury.
BELIEVES, OR BELIEF
Reasonably believes, or reasonable belief.
Conviction and confidence under the circumstances that (a person or thing) is, has been, or will be engaged in a given action or involved in a given situation, and a certain outcome will result.
REASONABLE
Logical, rational, sensible, sound and wise.

NECESSARY
