  • Tip 4
    If you submit your URL regularily to 1000's of linklists, you may soon be swapped by confirmation e-mails. If you have a program to delete them on the mailserver, that is a good thing. But it anyway will cost you time. Now, all of us have free webbased e-mail accounts. Use these for submission. Set their filters in the way, that all unwanted mails are deleted directly. This will avoid the bounce backs because of full mailboxes. I check once a week on a special account about 4000 - 6000 mails through - well, sort of. I browse through the subject lines and mark all to delete that do not sound interesting. If you do this for a while, you will pick the ones that are worthy to read, as most subject lines follow some rules that you get used too. And believe me - there are always some nuggets to find in a big heap of trash! If I would have to delete by hand all mail confirmations from my promotion I would have to read about 18-22 000 (!) mails a day. Who can do that?
