Fifteen years ago, Liz Scott, determined to get away from her six children, went into her bathroom, locked the door, and began writing as Modine Gunch. Since then, her columns have been published monthly in New Orleans magazine, and she's had two books, Never Heave Your Bosom in a Front-Hook Bra (1990) and Never Sleep with a Fat Man in July (1993), published by St. Martin's Press. She teaches journalism at Loyola University, where she also is the advisor of the award-winning student newspaper, The Maroon, and the award-winning student magazine, The Wolf. She lives in New Orleans with her youngest child (the other five have moved on to homes and bathrooms of their own) and two fat cats.
