Meet Liz Scott

Who is Modine Gunch?

Modine Gunch's life is more or less true, though I've been warned not to admit that.
Modine Gunch is, heavily disguised, me. And you. And every woman who puts up with the hassles of jobs, kids, cars, cat hairs, high heels, and the world at large.
She's wiry and energetic and upbeat and undefeated -- a soul sister who talks like she's from New Jersey. (This is because she's from New Orleans. Everybody talks like that around here.)
But we all know where she's really coming from. Home.

Modine Gunch on...

Christmas shopping: "The only thing worse than a reformed cigarette smoker is a early Christmas shopper."

Big Families: "I myself was raised in afamily with eight kids. We celebrated it like it was Mardi Graswhenever somebody got potty-trained."

Kids: "Some people say the oldest kid in the family gets the most attention. Some say no, it is the oldest boy. Some claim it's the baby. All of them are wrong. The kid who really gets treated special is the one who gets carsick. No way are you going to argue with somebody who is turning green and gurgling right in front of your eyes."
