| The following links will take you to 9 pages of thumbnails or 200+ pictures related to the outside of the school mostly during demolition. If the thumbnails always reload slowly see the item on the "MAIN MENU" page, about setting a slow browser. Some of the thumbs look lined or wrinkled, because they are montages. I have selected those I find most interesting or representative. This "Quick Tour" I have marked with small blue triangles under each photo I selected. I hope you will see something of interest here. Thanks again for visiting.
When you arrive at the image
map pages please remember that thumbnails will not function as links until
the image map is fully loaded. Click on a thumbnail to view a larger version

Map # 1 | The early pictures from August 1999 before any real demolition began. The destruction of the pod section and the auditorium would be here except I wasn't in Minnesota nor was I aware of what was happening until after the fact.

Map # 2 | What things looked like when I arrived, the football field, and the beginning of demolition on the north end of the old building (1938).
![]() |
Map # 3 | Pictures of debris, especially on the north end, demolition of the north end ongoing and shots of the front of the old school from across Commerce blvd.

Map # 4 | General shots of more destruction moving on toward the front doors of the old building.

Map # 5 | Demolition reaches the main doors of the old school. The destruction of the doors and associated area garners considerable attention from on- lookers and even stops traffic on Commerce Blvd.

Map # 6 | Destruction of the area south of the main doors and toward the Lynwood Blvd Wall (south). This includes the schools administrative offices.

Map # 7 | More of the same, and lots of shots of debris. Terri Campion the last person to enter the building that was once Mound High.

Map # 8 | The last few hours. The winter light levels are very low, and the camera is unable to focus. While these pictures are of poor quality they are better than any others I've seen . (Because I haven't seen any others). Other people took pictures and maybe you'll get to see those in the near future.

Map # 9 | December 9th 1999 at 5:19 CST the last wall of the old Mound High was pushed down. It was the west side of the Lynwood Blvd. wall. I used high speed film and then over developed it to make something come out. I did get some images silhouetted against the residual twilight. The end of old Mound High and the clean up. All that is left by the year 2000. Poor Quality, but worth viewing anyway.
