Sandy's Vintage Tonka Vehicles

Year:   Photo is of the 1956 grader but similar Orange "Hi-way Department" graders were produced through the 1960 model year.
Description:
This is the new Hi-way Department grader introduced in 1956 as part of set 975-6. (Note the bottom of the Hi-way Dept decal). In 1957 it was sold in sets B208 and B210 and also individually as No.12. In 1958 it was sold in set No. B211 and individually as the No.12 but now sported a STRIPE decal on both ends of it's blade. There are other nuances that differentiate one year from another but I'm not sure what they are. A real expert can identify even the most subtle differances... but I'm NOT one of those. These graders also used the same metal hubs found on most trucks of the same vintage. (Graders using hubs with triangle holes in 1959 I believe and certainly by 1960.)
