Sandy's Vintage Tonka Vehicles

Year:   Photo is of a grader built around 1967, 68 or some time after that. A similar design existed in 1965.
Description:
In 1965, you could now for the first time actually see the engine on the Tonka grader. (Black plastic) Also they put a section of black plastic at the back end of the machine, chopped a third window in the side of the cab, moved the reflectors/lights out onto the roof over hang, eliminated the stripe decals from the blade, and generally made a new grader. The wheels remained the same however and used the same metal hubs that trucks used at the time with triangular holes in them. It was sold individually as the 510 and in a set No.2180. In 1966 there was no significant change.

In 1967 or 68 The wheels changed and the hubs became yellow plastic. It was still sold with the same model numbers until 1969 when the 510 became the 2510. I'm sure there were other nuances of change that only an expert would know. I'm not sure how many years this grader was produced in this final form.
