The Rosemount High School Web site began in the 1996-1997 School year under M. S. Magdi, the computer Teacher at Rosemount High School. Under his patient guidance the school web site was first founded at Total.net out of Montreal. The first home page had the background RHS letters as this page depicts. The Welcome to banner pic at the top of this page is still from his initial creation. The school's photo was changed in the 1999-2000 year because the original one was experiencing problems.  There were probably many students who helped create the original School Web Site but we do not know at this time who they were.
Little is known of why there is a jeep along a craggy road at the top of the web site, nor do we know why the train was chosen as the anchor of the wb pages.
The internet at RHS began with 1 Macintosh LC 580 hooked up to a 14400 modem in what is room 2105C/21EC or what is now the Main Office Photocopy room.
Mr. L. Steinberger arrived on the RHS scene in 1997-1998 and took over the RHS web site in that year. The Total.net web site was abandoned in 1997-1998 by the school due to rising costs. Mr. Steinberger reinitiated the school site at Fortunecity to keep it alive. He expanded the size of the site by approximately 200%. The site is free for RHS use so long as advertising is present in accordance with the terms of service from Fortunecity.
The first student to have a completely separate web site from the school's, yet was still linked to the school, was Franco LoBianco. He created and managed the Ambassador's web site for his last year at RHS. He is also responsible for bringing in the rotating red RHS letters which are used mainly in the bulletin area. His site is still in use today.
Adam Desjardins was the second student who took over a section of the schools' web site by managing the Boy's basketball pages under Sports from 1999-2001.
Students who were taking classes with Mr. Steinberger in 1999-2000 began posting their own projects on the Web at www.geocities.com which are linked to the schools main site under Students at Rosemount.
Three students in Mr. Steinberger's 1999-2000 class under special projects were the first students to begin an annual tradition whereby old yearbooks of Rosemount High School stored in the schools library were scanned and placed on the internet. The students were Viviane Choy, Shumalia Sheikh and Sonia Sontoro.
Video Clips were introduced in 2000-2001 with the purchase of a digital camcorder, a Panasonic PV-DV400K. The school also received another digital camera in the same year, a D-Link DSC-350 to augment the already ageing Jam Cam from KJB Gear.
In September of 2002, the Mr. Steinberger acquired an Olympus 550 from the Grass Roots Grant money. The new camera improved the images on the web site. The school's web site was now getting so large that Mr. Steinberger estimated  an additional 100 Mb a year were being used to keep the site expanding as it was. Mr. Steinberger was getting the free web space from Fortunecity by simply requesting the new sites through a different email address at each request, as specified by Fortunecity.
