 The nuclei of the tumor cells are larger and darker than normal cells, including the ones in the connective tissue of the tumor;

  KIDNEY KC [ED  LULO.MD] This is at high magnigication. Notice the large Keratin Pearl (looks like pink ribbon swirling in a circle) characteristic finding in squamous cell cancer. Also, notice that the nuclear:cytoplasmic ratio is increased. (Normal is 3:1). Called squamous because of the similarity to fish scales. (skin)
