The Aloha State

         Hawaii was first settled by Polonisians sailing from other Pacific islands between A.D. 300 and 600.   It was then visited by British captain James Cook, who nicknamed it the Sandwich Islands.
       Hawaii was a native kingdom throughout most of the nineteenth century,

when the expansion of the vital sugar industry (pineapple came after 1898) meant increasing U.S. political and business involvement.  In 1893, Queen Liliuokalani was desposed and a year later the Republic of Hawaii was established as Sanford B. Dole as president.  Then, following it's annexation in 1898, Hawaii became a U.S. territory in 1900.
       The Japanese attack on the naval base at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941, was directly responsible for U.S. entry into World War II.

Kua Bay

         This secluded bay is only one of many picturesque sights in Hawaii.  It offers not only a comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere, but some of the whitest sand ever seen in the Bahamas and Hawaii.
