FREAKFEST 1997

Fall 1997

The week of September 15-19, 1997 was more than 12 strangers getting to know one another. By the end of Guest Relations overview, we had become "the Freaks." I will not go into details as to why they call us Freaks, it would be too embarassing for some. Besides, it was one of those experiences where you had to be there. I have included very cute group pictures of everyone.

      "Sensory Tickles"

We started the week off with class room setting seminars. However, by the week was over, our feet were in pain from all the walking we did all over Disney property. We visited every park, drove by most of the resorts every day at 7am-5pm or later. We learned so much information about Everything and Anything the average guest might ask us. And to think, there would be another week of City Hall training. We are the Hub for the Magic Kingdom park and it was very stressfull to learn all that info in a weeks time.

"Bing, bing, bing, bing, Whoop, bing, Whoop, bing, bing, bing, bing"

But we did it. We learned every Guest Service Manager's name in all three parks. The general manager all the way to Eisner. Plus, we had a quizes for Dining!! That was my favorite. We ate at China for lunch one day. We also went around MK to Tony's, Crystal Palace, and the Liberty Tree. We were treated like VIPs. It was fantastic!

"Can you do this, just like this?"

      In front of Tower
In front of Tower of Terror

Above is the day we went to the Studios.... Our mentors thought the Hercules Parade would be at 3pm.... guess what? We missed it by an hour! However, the day wasn't lost, we rode the Tower of Terror. That was the first time Candy ever rode the attraction. She wasn't very thrilled, but we convinced her she won't sick.

Florence and us at the ole WC

      "African *A-Freak-in* Safari"

Florence was my and Candy's Welcome Center's trainer. Behind us is a sign that states "Welcome Center Entrance -->" more than half of guests ignored that sign and came straight inside the WC gift shop. Do not know why we had to make their lives miserable by being difficult by hidding the entrance, but it just proves guests leaves there common sense at the door and do not read signs.

      "Welcome to the T.E.A.M. Freaks"

On, our last day, we were very well treated. Not only did we watch "Too Wong Foo" we each received a Mikey plush, a party, certificate, and VIP seating on the Liberty Square Bridge. We surely will not forget this experience for the rest of our Disney careers... besides we can brag that we got Mickey plushes.

      Miss you Guys!!!
