Samurai Rebellion (Rebelião) foi lançado nos EUA. Não há qualquer informação sobre lançamento dos outros filmes, nem aqui nem no exterior.

Masaki Kobayashi foi, na minha opinião, um dos melhores diretores que surgiram quase na mesma época do Kurosawa, chegando, às vezes, a superar seu amigo mais famoso, principalmente nos clássicos Harakiri e Kwaidan, um dos melhores filmes de horror já feitos no mundo (pena que não ganhou o Oscar de Melhor Filme Estrangeiro em 1965...)

Rebelião é estrelado por Mifune, um samurai leal que se vê obrigado a aceitar uma das concubinas de seu senhor como nora. Após vê-la casada com seu filho, percebe que ambos vivem felizes, mas um dia ela terá de voltar a casa do senhor, situação que irritará pai e filho e o obrigarão a lutar para que ela permaneça.

The thick walled room foi o primeiro filme dirigido por Kobayashi. Se não me engano, relatava os horrores da guerra, um tema tão debatido em seus filmes (ele fora um soldado na Segunda Guerra), principalmente no clássico Guerra e Humanidade.

Por último, Inn of devil (Aqui termina o inferno, 1971), filme estrelado por Tatsuya Nakadai. Um grupo de ladrões vivem em uma taberna onde escondem produtos contrabandeados. Um dia, entretanto, aparece um rapaz pedindo ajuda para resgatar sua amada, que foi vendida como prostituta. Mal sabem os ladrões que suas vidas mudarão por causa disso...

Samurai Rebellion was released in USA. There´s no information of release in Brazil or abroad of the other films.

Masaki Kobayashi was, in my opinion, one of the best directors that appeared almost in the same time as Kurosawa. Sometimes some of his films were even better than the ones made by his famous friend, mainly in such classics as Harakiri and Kwaidan, one of the best horror films made in the world (it was a great pity he didn´t win the Best Foreign Film Oscar of 1965...)

Samurai Rebellion stars Mifune, a loyal samurai that needs to accept one of his lord concubines as daughter-in-law. After she gets married with his son, he notices that both live happy, but one day she will have to go back to the lord´s house, a situation that will get on the father and son´s nerves, and they will fight until they get their goal: to keep the woman with them.

The thick walled room was the 1st film directed by Kobayashi. If I am not wrong, it was about the war horro, a subject often seen in his films (he himself was a soldier in WWII), mainlu in the classic The human condition (available in USA).

The last one, Inn of devil, stars Tatsuya Nakadai. A group of thieves live in a place where they hide illegal products. One day, however, a guy goes there asking for help: he wants to rescue his lover, that was sold as a whore. But the thieves don´t know that their lives will change after this...
