General Info:
Trail length 4.0 miles total. Elevation gain is about 600'. This is a moderate hike.
Location: FS road 475 at second parking area pass Fish Hatchery.
The trail follows the Davidson River for the first 1.2 miles. This section is mostly level with nice views of the river and a few cascades. The trail leaves the Davidson to follow Right Fork Creek for about a half mile. Right Fork has many pretty cascades this part of the trail is a moderate climb with lots of rocks. At the junction with Farlow Gap Trail the trail climbs up and over the ridge. Views of Cedar Rock and Looking Glass Rock during the Winter (off leaf) season. The trail drops and follows a stream through Mountain Laurels and Rhododendron then turns at the top of a 90 foot waterfall to come out unto a gravel road. Turn left on gravel road and travel just a few yards to view the waterfall. Then go back down gravel road which leads back to the parking area.
