Built in 1991,in Empire Michigan.
This light sits in a park along the shore of Lake Michigan. It is Michigan's newest light and only the second memorial light in the state. Robert Manning was a life-long resident of Empire. His family built the light to honor him, and the Coast Guard will soon add it to their official nautical charts.Manning was a fisherman, who died in 1989.Empire has a wonderfull beach where we have spent many a day and sunset.When I find my pictures of the sun seting over Lake Michigan, I will post them.
