New Presque Isle might be considered the centerpiece of the "Lighthouse Park".There are many things to see there, not just the tower. There is a store, attached to the building with food and gifts, largge picnic grounds with tables, and displays of history.I have included a couple pictures. One of a steam whistle and one of a large fog bell. The Lighthouse was built in 1870 to replace Old Presque Isle. The new tower can not be missed, because not only does it stand 100 feet tall, but is even even taller. When seen from water level,it is the tallest Lighthouse on the Great Lakes. This light is still in operation, and demands attention.
