Old Presque Isle Light House Is located in northwest Michigan. The "island" is connected to the mainland by a thin strip of land, which is what makes this "nearly a island", hence the name.Covered with cedars and pines, the drive back to the lighthouses is half the fun.You noticed I said houses, for both Old And New are located a mile apart, along with an old range light and gift shop. There also are many museum pieces.
Old Presque Isle, was built in 1840,and served well for over 30 years before being replaced and abandoned.Today however it is as you can see, restored to its current status, standing proud, with its keepers ever watching over here and her grounds. Open to the public,it is a beautiful and warm place to be.
