Point Betsie Lighthouse is located very near my wifes family,there for we see it alot.Even if it wasn't so close,it would still be a favorite .The house is a Coast Gaurd Station, that is home to two familes.Because of this,it is not open to the public.However,last year the goverment has decided to close it as a station, leaving its fate up in the air.
Built in 1858, Point Betsie wasn't fully automated till 1983, making it the last manned lighthouse on mainland Micigan.It is built on a small rise, gaurded by trees all aroud.It is well maintained with a breath taking view of the whole area.
