How does one become Righteous?
There's man's perception and self made concepts of righteousness and then there is G-d's will.
The Church often times creates the perception and concept of sin in which it can then save man from that sin. This is no different then the racket business, where they will protect you, but it's themselves in which they are protecting you from.
To learn what is righteous one has to comprehend
what is the will of G-d by studying the principles of it's purpose and existance as the power and source of Life. To be in line with it's will one must be in line with the nature of how things are.
In the Bible the 'archangel' is another term for Main reflection of the will (and righteousness) of G-d/main messenger/main prophet which is why I'm termed "angel of righteousness" which in Hebrew Malakh (angel)of Tsadek (righteousness).
malakh=Messenger and Tsadek=righteous is how the term Malakh-Tsadek (Melchizedek) comes from=meaning Messegner/reflection of the Righteousness of G-d.
So how is one righteous and reflecting the will of G-d?
Righteousness is one who Bestows, cares and sacrifices their own pleasure (I.e.prince) for the sake of others. Righteousness is in trying to bring about good changes in a decaying society. It's in being a watcher, a comforter for those who are being misstreated. It's in being there for people, accessable, helpful, sharing, fighting for freedoms, equal justice, fair Justices in general, mediating and helping things progress, sharing ideas, thoughts, passions for a better future.
It's in working for the Tikkun Olam (the repair of the world.)

Recommendations:
What I recommend is for people to get active: Here's a start, pick an organization and get involved.
Someone once asked me:
>>I do have a question though, why do you want to do good works?
Common sense....if my neighbor needs my bread because he is hungry then if I am ever hungry I would hope that would be returned by someone as bestowing as me.
If I help someone in need and one day they find the ability to make a difference then I would have set off a chain reaction of goodness in the world.
If I make the world a better place then I can live safely and happy in that same bed I make and have to lay down in myself.
To be bestowing can't be explained, its rewards
are the reactions and returns sometimes not seen but are there interacting and interconnected.
No-one likes a relationship where they are always giving of themselves and the others are always taking (receiving)...receiving is a bad nature, a selfish nature....until man becomes bestowing then he will reep the rewards of those changes...easier happy fulfilled life.

In becoming Righteous one also must learn how to Teshuva by admitting their faults and sins, address them and make amends, & try not to repeat them. I recommend that people re-learn the ten commandments and repeat them every single day so that they are embedded in your conciousness and always part of your reaction type decisions.
Then you are always aware of what you're doing conciously and will have a guilty feeling towards whatever it is that strays. I also wear a Mazuzah to remind me of the ten Commandments and the covenant I have with G-d and what people went through as suffering servants, so that I could be saved in a more just and lawful functioning society.
