Keeping kosher why?
keeping kosher , what does it do for the soul- no games!!
Kosherous, the act of keeping kosher. It is not that this mitzvah is only a requirement from the torah but it is much more then just that alone. To be kosher means to have a pure body. Everything that effects the body, effects the soul as both are connected and work in unison. Consuming non kosher food is unhealthy to ones body and soul.

So what happens when one chas v shalom eats things unkosher? My friends if the government can put a warning on cigarettes and say they are dangerous, which they are for ones heath, that is what Hashem did in the Torah. He said, DO NOT CONSUME HAM, PORK, EAT AN ANIMAL NOT SLAUGHTERED PROPERLY, DO NOT EAT FISH WITHOUT SKINS AND SCALES. This is not just some little thing you are putting in your body. It is something which effects and goes into the blood stream. Our soul is in the blood stream. When non-kosher food hits the blood stream, the evil inclination receives power thereby. A persons ability to do kindness, to feel godliness, holiness and the feeling of being a holy Jew gets diminished. Not to mention, we are all one. All of the Jewish people are connected. If one person makes a mistake, we all make a mistake. If you are not eating fully kosher yet, its not that you are a bad person, g-d forbid. It is just that your true potential is being suppressed. Change isn't instantaneous, it takes time. Your not expected to dive in. But please make the first step towards better emotional health and keeping the ways of our sages alive.
