People on my side
My family is from Fornos de algodres. I've got my surname from mother and father. The Flor surname from the mother and Sousa surname from the father. I have 1 brother Manuel born in 1966 in Macao and 2 sisters, Emilia born in 1967 in Macao and Rosa born in 1970 in Fornos de Algodres. I'm the oldest born in 1963 in Fornos de Algodres.
At present date, my father lives in Fornos de Algodres and the rest of us living in Australia. I used to live in 3 countries, Portugal, Australia; Wollongong and Brazil; Palmas.
My mother use to do house duties for wealthy families in Lisbon. After she got married, she did our house duties, while she cooked for guests in our house. That was in Macao. In Portugal she ran a café business called " Café Pacífico" for 17 years. Now she does house cleaning for my sister Emilia's business called " Emilia's home and pet care"
My father worked as a cabinet maker. He joined the army and he also had a cabinet maker job while there. When he was about to leave the army, a war came up in the 3 Portuguese provinces in India and my father went there to serve in a war. The Portuguese dominated and my father left the army and stayed there working for the Portuguese government. In a short time the Indians toke over the 3 provinces and my father became a prisoner for 5 months. After he was released from jail, he went back to Portugal and married my mother. At that time he opened his own workshop for cabinet making. In 1964 or so, a Portuguese government offered him the same job he had in India, this time to work in Macao, another Portuguese province administrated by the Portuguese. Let me say that his job was to supervise public jobs. In 1969 he migrated to Australia on his own. He's now living in Portugal since 1990 or so.
