Rhino
That these creatures have become endangered is testimony to the true stupidity of humanity. They are hunted for their horns which are ground up in the mistaken idea that some old man in the orient will regain his sexual potentency.
These living leftovers from the dinosaur age that have survived so much now are on the brink of extension shows how truly insensitive and ignorant humanity has become. So many different ideas have been used to try to stop this poaching. However because man wants the horn only from this animal he may pass from the land and be no more.

Rhinos have existed for over 50 million years. In the past, there were many different kinds of rhinos, including the largest land mammal that ever lived. Rhinos were also common in North America. Today, 5 species of rhino survive but all are on the verge of extinction, a crisis of catastrophic proportions for such a venerable group of animals. The rhino is being exterminated by poachers who sell the horn for medicinal or ornamental purposes in Asia and the Middle East. Without drastic action, four species of rhino could be extinct in the wild within the next 10 years. Only 13,565 of these marvelous creatures survive in the wild with another 1,000 in captivity. Of these rhinos, over half are of a single species - the white rhino. There are fewer than 5,000 of the other four species combined.
