In my garden there is a man-made pond in a woodsy setting and a fountain in a more formal
setting. Each one in a different way adds dimension and pleasure to the garden, and on a
hot summer afternoon can manage to make the day seem cooler.
Nothing quite matches the appeal of a water garden.
There is something infinitely soothing and relaxing about water.
Birdbaths are the simplest way to add water to the garden, and there is nothing more delightful
and calming than the tinkling spray of a fountain or the sound of a trickling brook running
through a garden.
Water can be a part of anyone's garden. Just remember, that it should complement the
surrounding features; be in harmony with the setting.

A little angel statue gazes pensively into the pond...

Another view of the pond with the wisteria and irises in bloom...

Water trickling down into the pond...

The fountain...

Water can surely captivate the senses. It can create visually stimulating movement and reflections and soothing,
bubbling, splashing sounds...making it a valuable asset in any garden.
