Premarin 2
This week, PETA TV focuses on menopause.
We'll expose Premarin and Prempro, two of the most widely prescribed drugs in the United States, which are made from horse urine. Recently, researchers stopped the massive Women's Health Initiative Prempro study, which involved more than 16,000 women across the country, after concluding that hormone-replacement therapy (HRT) raises the risk of strokes by 41 percent, heart attacks by 29 percent, and breast cancer by 26 percent. While millions of women are now ripping up their prescriptions, others stopped taking Prempro and Wyeth's estrogen drug Premarin years ago-not just for their health, but because they love animals.
Are you or is someone you know going through menopause? A low-fat vegan diet minimizes the temporary symptoms associated with menopause, dramatically lowers the risk of heart disease in postmenopausal years, and helps prevent osteoporosis. Still need a reason to get animal products out of your kitchen? Watch this week's selection of pro-vegan videos.

Premarin's Secret Ingredient
Last spring, PETA TV brought you "Look Into Their Eyes," a video exposé of Wyeth-Ayerst's dirty dealings in Canada. Now, more undercover footage and critical information is presented in PETA's video, narrated by Mary Tyler Moore, which exposes the "pee farm" cruelty to pregnant mares. Please share this video with the women in your life who may be taking Premarin or Prempro right now, and encourage them to seek alternative, cruelty-free treatment.
Bea Sweet to Horses
"Golden Girl" Bea Arthur makes a plea with viewers to say, "Nay!" to Premarin and urges them to explore the safe, effective plant-based and synthetic alternatives.

Recently, researchers stopped the massive Women's Health Initiative Prempro study after concluding that the drug was too dangerous. But many women stopped taking Prempro and Premarin years ago-not just for their health, but because they love animals.
