Southern Regional Chapter of:
The Florida Landcruiser Association

Main FLCA Site
Orlando Chapter
A site for fans of Toyota Landcruisers old and new. The kind you use every day - and ocasionally get dirty. Some are pure "restorations" while others are customizations where the old was replaced with new - be it a fiberglass body or a chevy 350 engine. All contributions are welcome: letters from the trail, photos, news, used parts, or cash. Happy trails!

Hello Cruisers,

Just got back from my bonus day (Monday) up in Ocala. The final count (un-official) was 18 Cruisers, 2 Four-runners, 1 Chevy, 3 Jeeps, a 3 mountain bikes. There were a total of 52 FLCA family members and 14 guests for a total of 66 people. There were also 4 Cruiser Dogs. Weather was great. Kinda cold friday night, but nice. Clear skies, lots of stars, and no rain.

It was nice to meet many of you for the first time as well as see your Cruisers. Got some great ideas for the work-in progress here at my house.

Brian has advised me that Eric Lansaw was the lucky winner of the Hi-lift jack. Congrats Eric!

A special thanks to Barry Robertson and his friend James Stevens from the B.F. Goodrich Safari Triathlon for leading the trail ride. Also thanks to the members of the Ocala Off-Road Club and others who joined us. There's a lot more other trails to explore so we need to get out there more often. If anyone plans any trips anywhere, please be sure to post it so others can join in if possible.

The campground was really nice, except for the no-reservation hassle that caused some of you to be camping in different areas. Incidentally, the campground was virtually vacant on monday. Brian and I spoke with a park employee on Monday morning. He told us that part of the over-crowding problem we were experiencing was due to the hoiliday weekend. He said we would have no problem getting a large block of adjacent sites during a non-holiday weekend. Something to think about for next time.

I did this from memory. Correct/add anything that may be wrong Brian. If anyone wants a regional position, let us know and it is yours. Please let your regionals know of any trail rides you plan to have between Chapter meetings. They will help spread the word to others who may be interested in joining the ride.

Several people are working on getting the club shirts printed. First, we need to finalize our new Logo. Any of you artistic people feel free to give us some input/ideas. Contact myself or Doug Sanders and his girlfriend Rhonda. The final design is starting to gel and it looks like it will be a circle with the state of florida with a cruiser on it. We also are thinking about your choice of cruiser (40, 45, 55, 60, etc.) on the front shirt pocket.

Some of you submitted your club applications to me. Most have not. If you have not, please be sure to forward you apps and dues to me ASAP as it takes $$ to get some of this stuff done. If you need any apps, please E-mail me directly and let me know how many you need. We've decided to issue membership #'s, so get your app in early if you want an low number ;-)) We are growing with great momentum. If you see any potential members/trucks, please do your best to contact them and tell them about our club.
If anyone has any good pics from the weekend that they feel would be good for TT publication, be sure to let me know. We got a good response from our last chapter report in TT and I would like to get another write-up/photos about this weekend in TT if possible.

Our next chapter meeting will be held in the Tampa area on March 20th. This meeting is still in the planning stages. Plans for the meeting will be posted as soon as they develop.

Thanks again for all attendees who made this our best turn-out yet. They keep getting larger and larger!! Let's do the same and keep the streak going for our March meeting in Tampa.

Those of you who are going to GSMTR this year can get your application on-line at the STLCA web page:

As the event will be limited to only 150 trucks this year, you need to get your application in ASAP!
