Hope

Deer

Test Story

It's been a long day today at battle. There are so many to heal due to arrows and swords, even the other deer have been wounded just trying to heal the others quickly. I'm left as well as 3 other of the 10 deer. The whole hideout is full of wounded Storm Weavers with those still coming in and out. All I can do is chant and apply herbal bandages to those really bad off. I hope to gather the other three deer and split them up to the other sections, in hopes to get everyone feeling better.

Second Story

Smoke curled up from the middle of one of the trees. I snickered some. Everyone was going to get the wrong idea...but did I care? Noooooooooo. I kept smoking my little pipeweed cigarette. Irony...a healer smoking. Did I care about that? Nooooooo. Either way, I just wanted to relax. It was getting too easy to get stressed out. I let my leg dangle, lazily of course, over the edge and puffed away. It's then that I heard the crying.

I put out the cigarette and swung out of the tree, racing into the woods. Pushing past bushes, tree limbs, and other stray objects, I soon came upon a young lady at the grove. She appeared to be very dirty, but there was blood pouring from her shoulder. Being moved greatly, I approached her. She seemed startled and tried to move from me, but I assured her I wouldn't hurt her.

"What did this to you?" I asked her calmly, reaching into a small pouch for bandages and salves, things of the healing nature. She relaxed some as I rolled her sleeve up, wincing some.

"I was attacked by a bear...it left though. You don't have to worry about me. So many people passed by me, not caring." I pressed a finger to her lips and helped her to her feet, leading her to the stream.

"I'm going to help you get cleaned up...then I'll take care of that wound." I had managed to bandage it securely to stop most of the bleeding already. The girl soon cleaned up and I handed her fresh clothes, using the rags she had before as bandages after I disinfected them. She sat down and winced as I cleaned over the wound more, then placed a salve over the wound. She remained silent the whole time, until I placed a fresh bandage over her wound again. She cried out.

"I'm sorry...but it has to be done." She nodded as I secured the bandage, finally helping her to her feet. I turned around and started packing things in my pouch again, talking as I did. "Try to avoid doing anything with the arm for a few weeks...and apply a fresh bandage and salve every other day."

I turned around to give her the supplies, only to see she had disappeared without a trace. I heard a bird chirp above me, and smiled despite my confusion.
