I was born in a small town. Everyone knew everyone else, and it was a
cheerful place. I never knew my father. Mother had told me when I was
old enough to understand that he had been killed in a war shortly after
I was conceived. So it was just Mother and I. I had a happy childhood
for the most part. My mother was the village healer, and so I learned
the art young and became quite good at it. Years passed and soon I was
a young woman, and that is when my world as I knew it was shattered.
War came; with it my town was sacked and burned, my mother raped and
killed, and I was forced to flee into the forest for safety. I tried to
go back to my village after the fighting was over, but there was
nothing to go back to, and so I made a new life for myself in the
forest. It is there I learned of the Goddess Marawen, and it is she
who protected me and gave me hope. To her I owe my life and my love of
what I do. I learned my calling during my time spent with nature and
the Goddess, and I know my destiny was to be a healer for anyone who
needed it.
