SOMEWHERE IN TIME

Out of dreams of another lost moment
in time.
With soft lilting music and mellow
laughter reaching out to the present.
A time when the pace was slower,
goals and thoughts of a different level.
A time of hard work by many and a glorious
romantic time of fun.
When neighbors, friends and family were an
important part of life.
When all would gather to dance and sing in
celebration of simple things.
I hear the soft vibrating strings of the violins
playing notes in melodies of dreams of now and
future.
The clarinets and saxophones in mellow tones
telling of the past.
Trombones and trumpets being slightly saucy and
brassy as they flirt in a very sweet tender seductive
way with age old melodies.
Drums beating in rhythm of youth and strength the
beating heart of life.
Cellos, violas and oboes in mellow tones of wisdom
and maturity blending with all.
Flutes and piccolos the laughter and giggles of youth
and those wise enough to be young at heart.
All of this drifting softly into the moonlight with
moonbeams reflecting on the soft velvety water.
Stars representing the lost loved ones twinkling
messages of love to those left behind.
A warm summer evening with soft sweet scents of
honeysuckle drifting on the cool caressing soft breeze.
Gentle shadows where lovers can share a special moment,
a quiet embrace and a soft warm kiss of discovery and
delight.
A palate of blues and purples in the sky making
a perfect backdrop to our dreams.
A softly lit rotunda where the orchestra is playing
for the dancing couples and those who are simply
quietly talking to friends and neighbors enjoying
the memories of another time and place.
Is this lost to all but the dreamers of the world?
Those of use not afraid to close our eyes and dream.
Letting all thoughts and feelings taking them to
a lost moment of memories of another era,
somewhere in time.
