Words from Strozilla: Wrestling for Business
Hello everyone. Hope everyone is doing well and has had a great week. It's been sunny and warm in here in Carolina. Been training hard and staying healthy. It was kinda crazy for me last weekend as I was almost in an auto accident with a reckless driver on the road coming home. Thank GOD for brakes and seat belts. Seat belts do save lives folks. If that wasn't enough, one of my peckinese dogs that I have had over ten years named "Kong" passed away last Saturday. I know this may not be much to some, but anyone who loves animals knows how attached you can get to your pet. He did live a long time and was always a healthy animal.
Other than that, things have been going great. My book is coming along ok so far. Still putting everything together and hoping to have a launch date for early next year. Also in the process of looking for more acting opportunities, so if anything goes through I will surely let you all know. My wrestling school has been doing great as all the students have been making great strides. Mexican star Lafletcha, the acrobatic Leo Allure,Deacon, and the powerhouse known as Cold Cash D recently were guests at the school. Recently , I got reacquainted with an old comrade of mine from the old Smoky Mountain Wrestling territory, former SMW ring announcer Scott Spangler. He looked to be doing well and now resides in Fayetteville, North Carolina. My wrestling matches on the independant circuit have been going well. Had a 4 man gauntlet
match for one of my championships that went very well recently. Hats off to Draven,Proc,Zane, and Ali Steele for giving the fight to me. I had a great match with Lodi a few weeks back. It was great to see him again. We did the event for a special friend names Blake Devone who was involved in a automobile accident about a year ago. The show was a success and the ACCW promotion was able to raise money for him and his medical fund. It was great to see Blake and his great family. One of my students Truitt Fields has just started his first few matches and is doing very well. This young man is very athletically gifted and has loads of potential. He has just launched his website which can be viewed at http://truittfields.tk/. This Saturday I will be defending the WCEW world title in Lumberton and Rockingham with the Rockingham show
being a lumberjack match. Myself along with my Triple Heat partner in crime WCEW hardcore champion Aaron Devil will be ready for action! So if you are in those areas, come out to see me and the guys and gals of WCEW.
Professional Wrestling goes in cycles like any other business. Gene Anderson and Nelson Royal used to tell me when I was breaking in the wrestling industry that when wrestling is at a lull that "wrestling skill" is relied on to bring things up for business. Case in point, the current WWE champions Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. When Chris Benoit won the Raw World championship in the triple threat with Shawn
Michaels and Triple H, along with seeing him celebrate with the Smackdown WWE champion Eddie Guerrero, it was such an emotional and monumental moment. It spoke volumes as WWE sent a loud message having two hard working technical wrestling veterans to represent
their company. Chris and Eddie have worked very hard, traveled all over the world, and have gone thru so much political and person strife. They both more than deserve to be the best and I couldn't be happier to have them represent the leading wrestling company in the world. Shelton Benjamin and Randy Orton are two other young athletes that are making strides with their ability. Only bigger and better things are in store for those two.
Been hearing about NWA/TNA close to sealing a deal with Fox Sports. This is a very good move and will be a great opportunity for them to showcase some of their great young talent. Hopefully more organizations will make that next step and provide some healthy competition for the wrestling scene. Should be an interesting few months ahead.

The place was in Southport, North Carolina. I was only a few years in my career and back then was known as "Robbie Eagle". I had a scheduled title defense for an independant wrestling promotion that night against the legendary "Chief" Wahoo Mcdaniel. For this stage in my
career, it was a real treat to be working with such a ring veteran. The match went very well with one of the highlights of the night being when I lifted up the big Indian chief in a standing vertical suplex! After the match, I remember Wahoo coming by me shaking his head
saying " Wow, I haven't been suplexed like that since Harley Race!"
