The Definitive Donkey- an excellent book for beginners. Written in easy to read language by a couple that have raised donkeys for many years...this book is usually the first one I recommend to "newbies".

The Professional Handbook of the Donkey- A more in depth book for those needing more information. This one belongs on everyones bookshelf.

Looking After A Donkey-another good beginners book. Covers all the basics in plain english. From how to choose your donkey to basic care, training and breeding. Available from the Diamond Farm Book Publishers listed above.

Caring For Your Miniature Donkey-another good book for those serious about their donkeys. I haven't gotten to read this one yet, but considering what I have read by this breeder...I would put it high on my recommended reading list. Past articles by this author include step by step how to's for trimming a donkeys feet properly, publication of Miniature Donkey Talk magazine, training articles, etc.
