Credits & Links
Here is a list of various websites (in no particular order) that have been of assistance
to me in one way or another in my quest for 'Oh Boy!' information:
Thanks to the following for supplying memories, anecdotes, photos, documents etc.

Last but by no means least, a very big "thank you" to Paul Rumbol for his generosity in supplying many, many scans of photographs and magazine articles, plus reports and endless hours spent on research and interviews, without which this website would be a lot less interesting!
ESSENTIAL BROWSING!
Here are a few links that you should really check out
for more in-depth info on some of the 'Oh Boy!' performers:
Dedicated to Ian Samwell, the 'Father of British Rock'n'Roll' and writer of Cliff's first hit record, "Move It" and others. - An absolutely first class site that you must not miss!
This is one of the best, if not THE best Cliff Richard & The Shadows record information sites. Records and track listings from around the world - all with record cover photos. Everything you need to know about Cliff's recordings - Be sure to have a good long browse!
Great site for in-depth information and a lot of great photos of one of the best pioneers of early British Rock'n'Roll. You can even buy a genuine vinyl 7" 45rpm Extended Play disc of 4 tracks recorded by him in 1958 when he was a skiffler -
(If you don't know what skiffle music was - go ask your father!)
This website has copies of the last 'Oh Boy!' show of 30th May 1959 for sale! It is the ONLY place on the Internet that I have found that has videotapes of ANY of the shows. - Besides 'Oh Boy!' they have hundreds of GREAT Rock'n'Roll/JD/Hotrod/Teen music/Motorcycle gang films/TV shows on videotape (NTSC system only, but most modern video players will play both PAL & NTSC) and region 1 DVD. For CLIFF fans - they sell copies of his very first film "Serious Charge" - a hard one to find!
This is one essential site
Roy Young's own website detailing his long and illustrious career - from his early beginnings, then playing with the Beatles in Hamburg, British beat groups, his own band and then on to backing some of the giants of the British music scene. Photo Gallery, discography, interviews and more.
A fascinating insight into one of Britain's pop veterans.
A chronological look at the TV pop shows that followed in the wake of "Oh Boy!": 'Boy Meets Girl', Wham, Drumbeat, Juke Box Jury, Ready, Steady, Go, and a host of others.
Clean-cut balladeers, beat groups, the Merseysound, British R&B, The Beatles, Mods, Fab Gear and other 60's memories. Lots and lots of pages!
Great website with everything you could possibly want to know about Billy, including video and audio clips. There's a link to Billy's fan club 'The Sound Of Fury' - A big website with tons of stuff! A must for all fans of Billy Fury.
"A story from early skiffle days thru The 2i's coffee bar, early Hamburg, to present day cockney entertainer."
A fascinating website with lots of information on the beginnings of British Rock'n'Roll, The 2 I's Coffee Bar and skiffle scene. Some great photos taken inside the 2 I's plus other venues of that period.
This is a Harry to Cliff story. It starts from the day he was born in Lucknow, India in 1940 to the day he became Cliff Richard and his record, "Living Doll" reached No 1 in the UK charts in 1959.
This is an insight into the early years of his life with pictures of places Cliff has lived, schools he attended, and places where he worked and played.

This is a link to a London tailor (Colin Taub) who specialises in making made-to-measure 1950's style box jackets, western jackets, trousers, waistcoats and 'Drape' style Teddyboy suits (jacket only or 2-piece and 3-piece suits). His prices are very reasonable and his manner very friendly.
www.bradfordtimeline.co.uk/music.htm
"Music of the late Fifties and Sixties plus TV, radio, films and charts"
A GREAT site with LOTS of pictures, Sheet Music, Posters and info mainly centred on Bradford, but which also includes much non-Bradford stuff too! Starting in 1956 going on 'til 1966
You'll find Cliff Richard, Billy Fury, Marty Wilde and other "Oh Boy!" stars there and I saw quite a few photos that I'd never seen before!
Well worth a visit!
MORE TO COME.......
Watch this space for new additions!
