In this photo we enjoy a calm, clear sunrise on Lake Mohave. After a morning dip in the lake I went for a walk in the desert with its magnificent vistas in the morning light! Mornings on the lake are many times like this and then the wind picks up in late morning into the afternoon when air begins to move in the desert from the heating of the land. In the summer in the early afternoon the wind can become very strong from the south blowing up the lake. Its great sailing into a hot breeze with spray from the cool lake cooling our skin in a most refreshing way as we plow through the waves, and the captain ( thats me ) calls out " more wine please! ". We always go for a sunset sail ( if theres wind of course ) and then return to whatever private beach weve found for the day and throw some steaks on the grill and enjoy a fireside chat. Fireside chats are not recommended on evenings where the temperature does not go below 100 degrees :-)
