This photo shows one of the sand bag dams that was created by " The Unknown Hotspringer " and his helpers! These dams held in warm waters coming from the many sources that flowed out of the hotpools and into the creek. The child sitting on the float in the water is on the warm water side of this dam. Kids really enjoyed these large warm water pools which gave them lots of room to play. Also under most of the area of this warm pool was clean sand. On the hotter summer days it was nice to have a large pool that was not so hot like the established hot pools. When its 105 outside, a 105 degree hotpool is not that appealing eh :-) At present this large pool in Deep Creek is much deeper due to the changes brought on by differant levels of flooding and a dam like this would not be reasonably possible.
