10. When I upload changes to my pages, the changes don't appear until I start my browser again. Why?
Most browsers use a process called "caching" to store recently visited pages (and their component files) on your hard drive. Caching web pages is actually quite useful as it speeds up web access a great deal. So, if you visit a particular page twice in the same session, your browser will most likely pull it from cache (on your hard drive) rather than from the web server. If the page has changed since you first viewed it, you won't see the changes.
What you need to do is press the Reload/Refresh button to see the page change; in some cases, you may also need to first empty the disk cache, then hit Reload/Refresh.
If you're using Internet Explorer, select:
Tools>Internet Options>Delete Files
If you're using Netscape Navigator, select:
Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Cache>Clear Memory Cache or Clear Disk Cache
These steps should erase the old version on your hard drive and force the browser to pull the new version from the web server. top

11. More than one person uses my computer and uses FortuneCity's free hosting service, but we are having problems with the service. Why?
When you log in to FortuneCity, your browser will "remember" the login information you enter; this is so that you will not have to keep typing in your username and password every time you access the File Manager. When two or more people use the same computer to edit their home pages, however, there will be problems accessing the second account as the browser is retaining the information for the first account.
To get around this, simply quit and restart your browser; this will allow FortuneCity to request a new username and password, thereby allowing multiple users to access their accounts from one machine. top
