Charles Lattimer

Charles Lattimer ( Mark Harmon) travelles through time, frustrated with the pace and direction of 21st century American life, and meets Laura Brown (Mary McDonnell) a 1896 widow with whom he falls in love.
If you are interested in time travel films, and are not looking for one of those computer generated special-effects fests, then this made for tv movie is what you are looking for. A quiet, evocative, time travel tale with interesting characters.

Det. Dicky Cobb

Chicago police detective Dicky Cobb (Mark Harmon) turns in some crooked cops and finds himself persona non grata in the department.
He is reassigned as an investigator for assistant D.A. Tess Kaufman (Marlee Matlin), partly due to the fact that she is deaf and he can sign.
So Dicky investages for her mostly with the help of Dt. Earl Gaddis () the only one in the force Dicky gets along with. Dicky gets romatically involved first with a cop's daughter (Nancy Everhard) who runs a bar and later with Maggie Zombro (Kay Lenz) a defence attorney.

Doctor Robert Caldwell

This hour-long dramatic series featured life at St. Eligius Hospital, headed by Drs. Donald Westphall and Daniel Auschlander. Every year, new residents would walk down the halls of St. Eligius; learning to deal with their fellow doctors, the staff and the patients that would change their lives forever.

Mark Harmon played Dr. Robert Caldwell (1983-1986) who discovers that he is HIV positive and dies on the disease. In my opinion it was remarkable to deal with such a problem in the 80s in a tv-series.
