In the 80s she started her career in this NBC series. I am sure many of you will remember her performance as Coco in Fame. In my opinion Coco was one of the most exciting and colourful characters in the show. Ambitious, talented and still not "too perfect to be true". Ever since I saw FAME as a teenager I've been a huge fan of Erica Gimpel. What I especially liked about Fame was that it showed so many sides of the actors. They all had to act, sing and even dance, and in my opinion Erica Gimpel was doing great in all three! Though I especially liked her singing (apart from the acting of course!). As I read on a website from NBC she has been working on a demo album. I hope it will be released some day so I can get it! If anyone knows more about that, please e-mail me!!!

Her latest credits include the NBC TV series PROFILER. She plays Angel Brown there. Angel is the best friend since childhood of the main character of the show, Samantha Waters, a Profiler with the FBI (played by A. Walker).

In North and South Erica Gimpel played the slave Semiramis. Unfortunately most people don't remember her character anymore (well, I guess they must have been drooling over Patrick Swayze then!). Well, I do!
