SPECIAL NOTE: References throughout the following
list is made to "CinemaScope" and "Todd-AO
70mm" followed by a date. CinemaScope has been used by me for
standard reference to any wide screen 35mm aspect. Depending on the film
studio that made the films, it also refers to Panavision, VistaVision,
etc. "Todd-AO 70mm" has been used for stanard reference for any cinema
that was equipped to screen any 70mm film. The date given is that for any
first known screening in the ratio (CinemaScope or 70mm). Most cinemas
built in the mid to late 1950s went straight to CinemaScope and opening
dates can in most instances refer to the introduction of CinemaScope.
