    Interview Provided by Victoria Woods

It may be cold outside ONE LIFE TO LIVE's New York studio, but in David Fumero's (Cristian) hometown of Miami, it's still hot, hot, hot! The actor recently left the Big Apple for a little Southern comfort, and took Soaps In Depth along for the trip!

    Back To The Beach

"I movied to the States when I was 8," explains the Cuban native, whose family settled in Florida before relocating to New Jersey. "Then we moved back to Miami when I was 12, and much of my family is still there."
"I don't get a chance to go back as much as I used to," he continues, "and although I love my job, it's always great to take tie off and go home."

Quote from left side of the interview:

"I love hanging out on the beach," says Fumero. "Getting some sun and going for a swim... anywhere on beach in Miami is great."

Quote from right side of the interview:

"I did a lot of scuba diving when I was living in Florida," the actor relates. "I also did a lot of pier fishing."

(Top Left) Right: Whenever Fumero gets home, he makes a point to stop at his favorite restaurant. "Puerto Sagua has been in Miami since I was a kid," he says. "It's Cuban and Spanish food. It's a great place!"

(Middle) Left: "It was the place for me and my friends," adds the actor, getting a cup of java. "Whenever we went to the beach, we always at there."

(Lower Left) Right: "In Miami, the popular beaches change all the time," Fumero says. "Anywhere in the South Beach area is cool. This past summer, the beach on Third and Fourth Street were famous when it used to Tenth and Eighth. When I was a kid, it was 40th Street. But to me, it's all the same beach."

(Far Top Right) This fall, I got to spend a whole month in Miami, which is rare," says the actor, who chopped his long locks after a day of gardening. "It was hot, there were bugs... and I just went inside and did it!" Fumero goes on to explain that his property is "sort of a farm," replete with a chicken coop and stable. "My brother just got a horse, so I put up a fence so it would stay on one side and not come into the yard. [My home] is exactly what I like-- it's the outdoors."
