***************************************************************** Amazon Street Fight Part One: Cologne's plot A Ranma/Street Fighter Crossover Jenny 'Android18' Chan android18@hotmail.com www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Pagoda/4071/index.html ***************************************************************** Shampoo hummed a tune to herself while she found a small container of spice out of cupboard. Taking the spice to the stove top where she had a pot of something cooking, she tasted the spice, before smiling and sprinkling some of it into the pot. There was a sharp cracking sound, and Cologne came into the Nekohanten's kitchen, a rolled up piece of paper tucked underneath one arm. "Shampoo, child, what are you doing?" Cologne asked as she peeked at the pot over one of Shampoo's shoulders. "Shampoo making instant fall in love noodles to give to Ranma, great-grandmother. Is that okay?" Cologne thought long and hard for a moment. "Child, how many times have we using that method?" "About 106 times, give or take a few times," Shampoo replied. "Will work sooner or later." Cologne winced at her great-granddaughter's nativity. "Um, why don't we try another method." "Oh, okay then." Shampoo turned the stove off, and gave Cologne her undivided attention. Clearing her throat, Cologne took out the piece of paper underneath one arm, and with a snap of her wrist, unrolled it. "This, Shampoo, will be how we get Ranma's heart." Shampoo looked at the piece of paper closely, before smiling. "Now listen closely, Child. Here is our plan." ***************************************************************** Ranma and Akane were walking home from school, when they encountered Shampoo, a sly smile on her face, on top of her bike. Ranma and Akane instantly stopped, a wary look on both their faces. "Shampoo," Ranma stated, "what do you want?" "Hello Ranma," Shampoo replied cheerfully. She walked forward a few steps, until she was only about a meter away from him. She tightly controlled her desire to glomp onto him. "Shampoo have deal for you." "Well, whatever deal it is, I don't want it," Ranma replied. "But Ranma, this very important to you." "Does it, gets rid of my curse...?" Akane kicked Ranma in the shin, making him yelp. "Ranma, it's just a trick. She's done this before. None of those cures ever work." Shampoo only continued to smile. "No, this not get rid of your curse. But Ranma will want this all the same." Curiosity peaked, Ranma looked at Shampoo through narrow slits. "Really? What is it." Shampoo unrolled the same piece of paper Cologne showed her, and held it so that Ranma could see it, but couldn't actually reach it. Ranma scanned the piece of paper, before Ranma gave a cry to delight. But when he reached for it, Shampoo yanked it back, out of Ranma's reach. "Shampoo, please, you have to give me that!" Shampoo shook her head. "If Ranma want, then come to Nekohanten tonight, and we make deal, okay?" "Okay." Shampoo gave a cry of delight, before turning around, and peddling away on her bike. Akane blinked, confused. "Ranma, what was that?" "That was the entry form for the World Street Fighting Tournament Championships!" Ranma exclaimed. "All of the world's greatest fighters will be there! I'd do anything if I could enter, and face the world's greatest fighters!" "Anything?" Akane asked. "Anything!" "Even marry Shampoo?" "Even marry- hey! I mean, uh, no!" Ranma cried, when he realized the trap Akane had set. Unfortunately, he had said too much already. A mallet came from out of nowhere, and pounded him over his head. "Ranma, you're such a jerk!!" Akane cried, turning on her heels and marching home. "Akane, wait up!" ***************************************************************** Later that night, a bell rang, and Shampoo and Cologne came out of the kitchen, to see Ranma by the door. "Alright," Ranma replied. "I'm here. What's the deal?" "It's very simple, future son-in-law," Cologne replied. "Marry Shampoo, and we'll give you the entry form." Ranma stared coldly at the two women, frowning. After a moment, he came to his decision. "No. I won't do it," Ranma finished. Shampoo and Cologne both stared at Ranma, slacked jawed. "What?!" Ranma swallowed. "I-I thought the whole day... and... I mean, it would be great to enter the tournament... but, it'll only last for one year at the most. Marriage... that would be for the rest of my life! It just ain't worth it." Ranma sighed. "I'm gonna go now. See ya around, Shampoo." Ranma turned to go, but then felt someone's hand on his shoulder. "Wait," Shampoo said softly, turning Ranma around. When he did, she slapped the entry form into Ranma's hand. "????" Ranma looked at Shampoo, confused. "What? But I thought..." "It was a test, future-son-in-law," Cologne explained. "It was also a win/win situation for us. You see, if you said yes, then Shampoo would be married. If you said no, then it would have proved what an honorable, and wise man you are, so that Shampoo would work harder at getting you for her husband, knowing that the prize was better." "Yes," Shampoo added, "and if Ranma win, then Shampoo can brag to all her friends how powerful Husband is!" Ranma stared at Shampoo, then looked at Cologne, who nodded at him. "Well... gee, thanks then!" Smiling grandly, Ranma turned to the door again, then stopped. "Hey, why don't you enter yourself, Shampoo?" Shampoo gave a laugh. "If by some strange chance, Shampoo loose to another man, then have to marry him! If somehow loose more than once, then have many, many husbands! No, Shampoo only want Ranma for husband, thank you. Shampoo no enter, but Shampoo be by Ranma house in the morning, so can come with you to see sign up office, okay?" Shampoo asked. "Yeah, sure Shampoo!" Ranma replied cheerfully before walking out the door. ***************************************************************** When Ranma got home, he found the enter family waiting for him in the living room, unpleasant looks on their faces. Soun had tears streaming down her face, but managed to keep composed enough to speak. "I see you have the entry form in your hands, Son. I take it you are now married to Shampoo? Well, that can't be! Quickly! We must get you and Akane to the alter now, to beat out this other wedding!!" "No, wait!" Ranma shouted. "I got the entry form, but I'm not married to Shampoo!" He cried. "See, this happened, okay." Ranma explained the situation to the family. "Do you understand now?" He asked. "I don't believe you, Ranma!" Akane shouted, "now Shampoo will try even harder to get you! How can you be so inconsiderate, you pig?!" "Akane, wait!" Ranma cried, but she had already stocked away. Ranma sighed, ~you just can't win with that girl.~ ***************************************************************** The next morning, Shampoo came by the house, and went Ranma walked out of it, promptly attached herself to his arm, smiling grandly. "Morning Ranma! Take Shampoo out on date, after sign up?" "Uh... Shampoo," Ranma fidgeted, "why don't we just... go sign up first, okay?" "Oh. Okay then. This way, Ranma." Shampoo and Ranma went to the sign up office, and bumped into a woman with brown hair in a pony tail, blue jeans and red blazer. Mumbling an apology, she continued walking. Shampoo frowned, and looked back at the woman, who was running around the corner. "What's the matter, Shampoo?" Ranma asked. "Woman very familiar," Shampoo replied. Then, she shrugged, and they went into the building. Ranma signed up, and handed his paper in, when he saw a large chart with names, places, and dates on it. He poked the man at the center in the shoulder. "Hey, what's that?" Them man looked at the chart. "Hmm? Oh, that's the fight schedule. See those big names? M. Bison, Sagat, Vega and Bulrog are the Grand masters. Those in pen are the proven challengers. That means they're the champions of their territories from last year. The rest in pencil, are the new challengers who still have to be tested, by beating one of the champions in their turf, then beating another one of them on your own turf. You have to do this with in the first five fights to become one of the champions, okay?" Ranma nodded. "I understand. When is my first fight gonna be?" "You'll get a copy of the fight schedule, and we'll phone you a week before your fight. Understand?" Ranma nodded again. "Tomorrow will be the official opening of the tournament in Japan, and we're gonna have a little exhibition with a few of the champions. There will be a little biography on the champions, and there will be a demonstration between Ryu Honshu, Japan's favorite and Chun-li Zhang, China's favorite." The person handed Ranma a flyer, who said thanks, then went to show Shampoo. Shampoo looked over the flyer, then gasp and pointed at one name. "Chun-li?!" "Yeah. Says here she's 26, 5'8, and won't tell her weight." Ranma smirked. "Why, you know her?" "Yes," Shampoo replied. "Chun-li from same Amazon village as Shampoo. Was killed 25 years ago during big raid on village." Shampoo frowned. "Chun-li Zhang was great Amazon. Her name still around even after Shampoo born. That how Shampoo know her; through reputation. Husband and daughter left after Chun-li died to get revenge on killer." Shampoo frowned. "How Chun-li able to enter tournament if dead?" "Well," Ranma replied, "it could be a big coincidence." "Shampoo no think so... but no other way to explain it." "Right, well, anyways, I have to go home. I have to start training, if I'm gonna get into this tournement." ***************************************************************** Later that day, Shampoo went back to the Nekohanten, and approached her great-grandmother. "Great-grandmother, you remember Amazon name Chun-li Zhang yes?" Cologne nodded. "Ahh, Chun-li. One of my best pupils. She mastered many different kick techniques and the kioken. Pity she died." "Great-grandmother, Chun-li enter tournement." Cologne looked at Shampoo, confused. "Shampoo, what are you talking about?" Shampoo showed Cologne the flyer, and the old woman read it, eyebrows arching. "This is very interesting. My pupil had a daughter before she died. Unfortunately, her husband took the child away from us before we could properly train her to be an Amazon. Hmm..." Cologne came to a decision. "Shampoo, we're going to see this exhibition tomorrow. I believe we might have found a long lost Amazon sister." *****************************************************************
