***************************************************************** Guards of the Senshi Pre Wanderings 2: Death and Rebirth A 'Wonderings of Reality' Story Written by Jenny 'Android18' Chan android18@hotmail.com www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Pagoda/index.html ***************************************************************** Jene and Janet went to live with Master Constel Lation, after being announced to be the future Sailor Gemini1 and Gemini2. Under the proper guidance of Constel, Jene and Janet became full fledge CSs by the time they were 10, which was fortunate, because it gave the two time to explore their full potential before the younger Sailor Senshi completed their training. ***************************************************************** "Makoto!" Jene cried, running over to greet her friend. "You're here!! You really need to visit more often!" Makoto smiled grandly as she ran up to her best friend and gave her a hug. "It's not my fault I have to train all the time to be Sailor Jupiter! It's a lot of fun though!" "Really?!" Jene asked. "I train too! The adults say I'm suppose to be Sailor Ge-" Jene shut up when she saw Sailor Sagittarius, an old old senshi give her a glare. "What?" Makoto asked. "Nothing," Jene replied sweetly. "Come on, let's go find Janet and we'll go have fun!!" ***************************************************************** A few hours later, Jene and Janet found themselves seated before 11 elite Constellation senshi. "What's wrong?" Janet whispered to Jene softly. "I dunno," Jene whispered back. "Silence!!!" Sailor Sagittarius shouted. Jene and Janet both gulped, shutting up and not daring to move. They learnt a while back that not all people were like Master Constel Lation, and some people actually disliked them for being in the Zodiac Division at such a young age. Sagittarius was one of those people. At the age of 55, he was oldest, only second to Sailor Capricorn, who was 65. Capricorn however, was kind to them, as he at his old age, found great amusement in the young twins. The youngest Constellation senshi next to Jene and Janet, were Sailor Scorpio who was 14 and his sister Sailor Libra who was 15. Scorpio and Libra were friends with the twins and Scorpio often joined with them in childish pranks. Sailor Taurus, Sailor Aquarius and Sailor Cancer were all 20 and looked at the twins with indifference. Sailors Aries, Leo, Virgo and Pisces were all in their 30s or 40s and disliked the twins with as much disgust as Sagittarius. And thus, the Zodiac Division was often divided into two, with Capricorn standing on mutual. The older senshi often belittled the younger ones, often saying to them that the only reason they were part of the Zodiac Division, was not because they had talent, but because they needed younger people to understand the ways of the younger senshi. In truth, some of the younger senshi had as much if not more talent and skill than the older ones. "Why did you call this meeting?" Capricorn, the undisputed leader asked, impatiently. Sagittarius stood up. "This afternoon, while supervising those two children," he glared at the twins. "I caught Gemini2 about to tell Sailor Jupiter about the Zodiac Division." The older senshi all gave gasps and began murmuring about kicking the twins out of the division. Capricorn called for peace. "Relax everyone!" He replied. He looked at Jene softly. "Well, Gemini2, did you tell young Jupiter of the Zodiac Division?" Jene thought about it for a moment. "No." She replied after a moments consideration. "Liar!!" Sagittarius shouted. "I have witnesses!!" "I didn't tell Mako about the Zodiac Division. I was going to tell her I was training to be Sailor Gemini2." Jene replied. "See!!" Sagittarius shouted. "You did!" "But Mako will just think I'm any other ordinary senshi. She's never heard about the Zodiac Division." Jene replied. "I didn't say anything about the Zodiac Division." Sagittarius stared at Jene, opening and closing his mouth a few times before he heard Capricorn give a laugh. "Very well, Jene," the leader of the Zodiac Division replied. "You are clear of any charges." Sagittarius gave a scream. "I can't take this anymore!!" He shouted. "Why did Master Lation let these...RUGRATS join the Zodiac Division? They're way too young to be experienced enough!!" Capricorn gave Sagittarius a glare that suggested he was tired of having to explain to him the reason for having youths around over and over again. "We need them to keep our division a secret, Sagittarius," he said through clench teeth. "The younger Sailor Senshi will become suspicious when old fogies like you and me start coming to their rescue!" Sagittarius looked like he wanted to object but nodded mutely. The meeting was over and the people went back to their everyday lives. ***************************************************************** As the Sailor Senshi matured, so did the youths of the Zodiac Division. The Zodiac Division carried out it's mission with success. The younger Sailor Senshi didn't seem to be aware of the Zodiac Division, and after they proved to have out grown their need for protection, the Zodiac Division was announced to the public as a new Division of protection against the Dark Kingdom, which was starting it's roots. It's previous mission was never found out until one day... ***************************************************************** "I don't believe you're part of the Zodiac Division!" 16 year old Sailor Jupiter said. These days, none of the public called the Sailor Senshi by their commoner's names, although the Senshi themselves did often to remind themselves of the normal lives the could have led. "Why?" 16 year old Sailor Jene Gemini2 asked with a teasing smile. "You don't think I'm powerful enough?" The Sailor Senshi were helping the Zodiac Division move into a new office and moving their things with them. "Of course not!" Jupiter retorted. "It's just that... some of you are so old. And they belittle you a lot! How can you stand it?" She asked. Sailor Scorpio gave a laugh. "They've been doing it for years! We're use to it by now." Sailor Mercury raised an eyebrow. "Really? How can that be? I thought the Zodiac Division was newly assembled." Scorpio appeared tongue tied so his sister Libra answered for him smoothly. "No no," she said. "we've been together for years, training. We've just made it official these last couple of weeks." Taurus and Cancer came in with more boxes. "Okay, this is the last of the stuff!" Cancer replied as Aquarius came in with a computer. "Where are the old guys?" Aquarius asked as she stretched her back. "I don't see them helping move." Janet Gemini1 gave a laugh from where she sat on Scorpio's lap. "You said it yourself. They're old." Scorpio gave a snort. "I don't believe them sometimes. They make us do this boring stuff, saying they're too old, but then we find them mountain climbing and having tournaments." Taurus nodded in agreement. "I wish Old Capricorn didn't retire. He was the best. The new Capricorn only knows how to kiss up to Sagittarius, now that he's the leader." "Ah forget it," Cancer replied with a grin. "I don't want to be with them. I like this." She motioned around the room. "Just friends hanging out. Like a family of some sort." Near the computer, Mercury and Aquarius were trying to set and boot it up. Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion were holding hands by the table where Gemini1 and Scorpio were sitting, making nice. Gemini2, Jupiter, Libra, Mars and Venus were sitting on the floor taking a rest from the labor. Taurus was standing beside Cancer as she addressed the group. Jene couldn't help but agree with Cancer. Like Jene and Janet, Cancer had been orphaned and raised on streets before being discovered by Master Constel Lation. Everyone was silent after Cancer's `speech'. But the silence wasn't cold or awkward. Everyone was just agreeing with Cancer, and enjoying the moment. Aquarius went over to Cancer and gave her a pat on the back. "Well said." "It's booted up," Mercury replied. "Look, here's the mission statement." Then, she made a frown. "This isn't right. There's two of them." Calling up the first and older one, she read it, frowning. When she was finished she looked up at the CSs, who were confused. "What is the meaning of this?" Mercury asked as she turned the screen around so everyone could read it. Venus frowned as she read it. "....protection....younger senshi...until strong enough... training wheels..." Her eyes went wide as she finished reading this. "What is this?!" Taurus looked at Scorpio. "Didn't you delete that?!" He hissed. "Sagittarius was suppose to!!" Scorpio replied. "He deleted all the computers...why didn't he do this one?" "Excuse me," Sailor Mars replied, glaring at the Zodiac Division. "But I think you owe us an explanation." All eyes turned to Libra, unofficial leader of the younger members. "Well..." Libra replied softly. "It started like this..." ***************************************************************** Five minutes later, the Sailor Senshi were nodding their heads in understanding. Libra looked at them. "I think...all of us will understand if you're feeling rather angry with us..." The three of them turned to Venus to speak for them. "Well..." Venus said softly. "We would have liked to have known about this... but we...we I understand the necessity of secrecy." Mars gave a smile. "Besides, how can we be angry when you guys were only trying to help us?" The Constellational senshi all smiled. Soon, the Zodiac Division and the Sailor Senshi were back as that big happy family Sailor Cancer had described. ***************************************************************** However, the Zodiac Division soon drifted away from the Sailor Senshi, although the younger members still had contact, because the Zodiac Division had to fight against the Dark Kingdom. It was an even fight with Beryl in charge, but when she managed to open a gateway to the Negaverse with the help of Metallica, and establish the Dark Kingdom there, it got tougher and tougher. Finally, things got so out of hand, the Zodiac Division was decided to be called in. ***************************************************************** The Zodiac Divisions was with the rest of the Constellation senshi in the main court, ready for action. Sagittarius frowned as he looked over his troops. Sailor Aries, Leo, Virgo and Pisces had gotten considerably stronger in the last few years and he trusted them more. ~The Gemini twins are bound to be trouble,~ Sagittarius thought to himself. ~I'd like to assign Aries or Leo to tie them down, but I can't spare the good soldiers to baby-sit the bad ones." Even though the younger CSs had matured into fine warriors, Sagittarius still thought of them as babies and his decisions often reflected that. "Libra!" Sagittarius barked to his second in command. "Take Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius, Cancer and the twins with you in one company. Aries, Leo, Virgo, Pieces. You four are with me." With that Sailor Sagittarius turned tail and walked off to the teleporter with his followers. Sagittarius turned back. "Oh and, Libra? Check in with the other teams going. I don't want to have to deal with them. They're so...pathetic." Libra stifled an objection. She would like to make peace with the older CSs, but they always had a grudge between them. She believed that you couldn't go into war when you were at war with your team mates. Unfortunately, Sagittarius didn't agree with her. "What is his problem?" Taurus asked, glaring at the retreating forms of his senior team mates. "Every single time, he splits the Zodiac Division into two. When the time comes, how can we fight together when we've never done it before in the past?!" Green haired Aquarius gave a sigh and walked up to Taurus, brushing a lock of his brown hair out of his eyes. Recently, the two had announced themselves to be a couple. "We should probably come up with our name. How about The Younger, Prettier and All Around Better Zodiac Division Half?" Libra laughed. "I like it! Unfortunately, as team leader, I think we should concentrate more on fighting the Dark Kingdom than Sailor Sagittarius." Grudgingly, the other senshi had to agree with her as they went to the teleporter to get beamed over to Earth from the Sun. Libra grabbed a pear of head sets and shook her shoulder length blonde hair out of the way as she dawned it. "This is Sailor Libra, testing, testing, 123." She spoke into it. "Check off." The rest of the Sailors followed suit. "Sailor Taurus, present." "Sailor Aquarius, present." "Sailor Cancer, present." "Sailor Gemini2, present." There was silence for a moment before Libra gave a growl. "Janet, would you mind stopping your activities for just a few moments so my little brother can call off?" Janet smiled, and stopped fooling around with Scorpio's headset, placing it onto his head. "Okay." "S-Sailor Scorpio," he stuttered, too busy playing with his girlfriend Janet to really care, "present." "Sailor Gemini1, present." Janet giggled. Libra glared at her brother and his girlfriend. "Will you two just wait until AFTER this mission?! This is exactly why Sagittarius looks down on us! I want no foolishness, okay?! This is for real." Scorpio and Gemini1 quickly sobered up, nodding. "Okay." Libra nodded. "Okay, opening com-links to frequencies of other teams." There was a pause before Libra spoke again. "This is Sailor Libra of the Constellation senshi, Zodiac Division. Is there any more team captains out there?" There were many replies of yes. "Sailor Libra?" Someone asked. "We were told that Sailor Sagittarius was leader of this operation." Libra gave a sigh. "Sagittarius is. But he's not available right now, so he sent me. Can I get a roll call of all the captains present?" "Sailor Draco, present." "Sailor Big Dipper, present." "Sailor Orion, present." "Sailor Pegasus, present." Libra gave a curt nod out of reflex. "Sailor Libra. All present. Do you all know your orders?" "Yes. Infiltration of the Negaverse. Information gathering, destruction if possible. Total stealth." "Very good, people." Libra replied. "Move out." "Yes Sir!" With that, the Constellation senshi moved to their teleporter and got onto Earth. ***************************************************************** The Zodiac Division got to Earth first, in total stealth. In front of them, the other members of their team crouched. Behind them, the other Constellation senshi came through the portal in total silence, quickly finding hiding spots. Quiet, they moved and Libra signaled to Sagittarius. "*What's the situation?*" Sagittarius seemed to roll his eyes at the question. "*Checking it out presently. No activity. Looking for Endymion's guards to check in.*" Libra nodded before signaling to her troop. "*Look for Jedite etc.*" She told them. Gemini2 frowned slightly to herself. Something wasn't right. They were suppose to teleport into the teleportation room. However, they found themselves in a rocky forest. The teleporter had been moved. Something wasn't right... Taurus motioned. "*To left. Make contact?*" Libra shook her head. She motioned to Sagittarius. "*Jedite spotted. But don't make contact. Something is wrong." Sagittarius snorted. "*Nothing wrong!! Making contact NOW.*" Libra hissed a "No!!" In her headset softly before quickly following Sagittarius to Jedite and Zoicite quickly. "Sailor Sagittarius," Jedite said loudly. "What is he doing?!" Everyone heard through their headsets as one CS voiced what other's were thinking. Sagittarius frowned. "Sir," he said softly. "We believed that our mission was stealth..." Zoicite laugh insanely. "Not anymore it isn't." Libra frowned. "Wha-?" Just then, Jedite drew out a sword and stabbed Sagittarius in the stomach up to the hilt. There was a large bump in the back of him just before the blade burst through. Jedite laughed, pushing Sagittarius to the side. Zoicite poised to do the same to Libra who quickly jumped out of the way, grabbing onto Sagittarius and pulling him out of Jedite's way. The rest of the Constellation senshi watched in shock. There was a deafening roar as youma, demons and spirits from the Negaverse, as well as humans enslaved by the Dark Kingdom like Jedite and Zoicite were, appeared everywhere. In the next five minutes, every single one of the Constellational senshi discovered that they had just transported themselves into Hell on Earth. ***************************************************************** Gemini2 knew she had no authority, but she said it anyway, and saved a lot of lives when she bellowed it into her headset. "DISPURSE!!! IT'S A TRAP!" There were screams of terror and pain as the CSs quickly ran out of their hiding spots. Gemini2's warning didn't come soon enough as more than 25% of the troops fell to the floor at the first youma attack, never to raise again. Libra, grabbing onto Sagittarius and dragging him away, shouted as the shadow of Kunzite fell over her. Smiling evilly, he was about to strike, but Libra was quicker, firing off a power blast into his face. Kunzite shouted. Chaos and Panic was everywhere as some senshi tried to run, and other's tried to hide. Every single member of the Zodiac Division stayed to fight though, which was better, because everyone who ran, quickly found themselves being hunted down by thousands of youma. Scorpio gave a shout as he managed to tackle down Kunzite and rescue his sister. "Let go of him!!" Scorpio shouted, referring to Sagittarius. "There's no time for him!!" Libra glared at Scorpio. "If he was me, and you were I, you wouldn't leave me!!" She shouted, hauling Sagittarius away. "Cover them!!" Virgo advised as she stepped in front of the three down senshi to block them against Zoicite's peddles. She gave a scream of pain as one of them sliced through her magic shield, and embedded itself into her eye. Virgo grabbed her eye, magic weaker now. Zoicite's peddles sliced through the air, cutting through Virgo, who became a human shield for the three. "Virgo!!" Taurus shouted, running to save her. "Too late," she cried as blood gushed down her cheek by the gallon. "I'll be the cover...everyone...retreat!!" Virgo have one last command before being reduced to human coleslaw. Gemini2 stared at the carnage, and, for the first time in her life, wondered if Sagittarius had been right about the older senshi being stronger. She doubted she could have done the same noble thing Virgo had just done. Grabbing Sagittarius and forming into a defensive position with Libra in the back, the Gemini twins in the front and everyone else in the middle, holding Sagittarius or fighting from the sides, the Zodiac Division gradually cut through the sea of youma until they managed to get into a cave. ***************************************************************** Jene had never felt so much blood on her body ever in her life! Some of it was red, meaning it was her own blood, but most was some other sick color meaning a youma had died. Jene shifted her aura into a sharp blade around her arms and began to slice and dice her enemies. With a move of the arm, something lost its head while another spilt its guts. "There's a cave up a head!!" Janet shouted. "Get into there!!" Libra ordered. "Are you crazy?" Aries cried. "We'd be trapping ourselves in there!" "Can you think of a better idea?!" Libra snarled. They fought to get nearer to the cave. ~There has to be a better way!!~ Jene snarled. ~I have to bring more power!! I have to get rid off all these youmas!!" Jene gave a shout, charging her aura and managed to send a blast so big, it cleared the area around them for a mile around. Then, she promptly dropped to her knees from exhaustion. "There'll only be so long before they come again," Libra said, holding Jene up. "How's Sagittarius?!" "Not good," the new Capricorn replied. "I don't think he'll live very long. Libra, you'll have to remain leader." He said reluctantly. "I don't care who's the leader!!" Libra shouted. "I only have two goals right now. Getting into the Negaverse and destroying the Dark Kingdom, and getting Sagittarius to the nearest doctor!!" "Wait, Libra." Sailor Leo said, running towards the cave. At the mouth of the cave, he quickly stooped down and low and behold, a trap door opened. "Get in now!!" Quickly, the surviving members of the Zodiac Division dropped into the cavern before Libra quickly closed the door again. Have running and dragging themselves, they ran through the underground for miles and miles. "How did you know about this?" Libra asked. Leo gave a wry smile. "Before I was sent to the Zodiac Division, my company and I spent months on Earth preparing this underground system as a storage facility in case something like the Dark Kingdom happened." "Which way back to the transporter?" Libra asked when they came to a fork in the tunnel. "The left one is faster, but I suggest the right one." Leo replied. "It takes a while, but if we're being tracked, they won't know where we're headed." Libra looked back at Sagittarius who was being carried by Scorpio and Gemini2 being carried by Gemini1. "Will Sagittarius survive the delay?" Leo frowned. "I don't know. But I do know if we take the left, the possibility of any of us surviving will be slight." "Where does the right lead?" Leo sighed. "It is a maze, but it'll eventually go to the entrance to the Negaverse." Libra grit her teeth together. "Go to the right." ***************************************************************** The Zodiac Division stayed in the tunnel for hours. Finally, Leo signaled them to stop when they got to a large room filled with boxes and supplies and two tunnel at the other end. "We shall rest here." Leo said softly. "Everyone is tired, and even if we do get to the teleporter, we won't be strong enough to get anything." Libra nodded. "Alright, but before you guys nod off, I want to call a meeting." Everyone sat in a circle with Aquarius using some supplies she found to patch up Sagittarius. Libra began. "If today's blood bath was any indication, then the Dark Kingdom is far more stronger than we thought it was. I propose a two pronged attack. "Some of us will take Sagittarius, meet up with any surviving Constellational senshi and get to the moon. I have no doubt in my mind that's where the main attack will be centered. "Others of us will carry out the original mission and find a way to the Negaverse and try to take down the Dark Kingdom there themselves. Any objections?" There were none. "Great." Libra said. "Then who's going where?" Leo straightened up. "I will go to the Negaverse, sense I know these passages best." Libra nodded. "I too will go to the Negaverse." Scorpio raised his eyebrows and stared at his sister. "Sis? Why?" He didn't say that he knew going to the Negaverse was a suicide mission. "As leader, I believe I should go to the place that will be of most use." Libra replied. "And because I work better with stealth than I do with open attacks." "Well if you're going then so am I." Scorpio replied. Gemini1 looked at Scorpio. "Hey, you're not going to leave me behind." "No," Libra said. "Janet, you and Jene should go to the moon. You two have wide attacks and power will be of more use there." "But I wish to go with Scorpio!" Gemini1 cried, grabbing onto his arm. Libra looked at Janet. "Gemini1." She stated. "As a member of the Zodiac Division, you should know that your duties come before personal wishes." Janet looked at Libra with tears threatening to fall. "I...I understand, sir." "Good." Libra replied. In the end, it was decided that Libra, Leo, Scorpio, Taurus and Aquarius would go to the Negaverse. Gemini1 and 2, Cancer, Pisces, Capricorn and Aries would take Sagittarius to the moon with them. "Now get some rest." Libra ordered. ***************************************************************** A few hours later, the Zodiac Division were ready to split. Gemini1 and Scorpio had held each other through the night and now were ready to part. "Go through that tunnel," Leo said. "A few miles later will be a ladder before a fork in the road. Go up and you'll be directly to the teleporter, unless they've moved it again. Pray that they didn't." And that was that as they went through their separate tunnels. ***************************************************************** Libra and her team went through the maze for hours and hours on end. Finally, Leo stopped when they stopped. "Up this ladder, and we'll be at Point-D at the arctic, the entrance to the Negaverse." Leo said quietly. "Brace yourselves, it'll be cold." Leo climbed up the ladder, and opened up the hatch. He looked around before climbing out of the hole. There were a few moments of silence before Libra called out to him. "Leo? Is the perimeter secure?" Leo didn't answer and Libra suddenly got a sinking feeling. "Something is very wrong." Libra shouted. "Let's all go up at the same time," Scorpio suggested. Libra nodded and the four of them, using amazing jumping abilities, shot out of the hole, ready for a fight. "Well, well." Kunzite said with a malicious grin. "Look what we have here." Libra snarled, taking up a fighting position. "Where is Leo, Kunzite?" She demanded. Kunzite laughed, motioning for the senshi to look behind them. They did. Leo laid on the ground, dead with half his face blown off by a power strike. Three different youmas were chewing on him at the moment. Surrounding the four of them, were hundreds of other youma and mind enslaved humans. Libra gripped her fists, knowing their mission had failed. There was no way they could get into the Negaverse. Unless... ~If I kill Kunzite,~ Libra thought. ~Then maybe his youma will be go out of control, providing the distraction we need to get over to the Negaverse...~ Libra tilted her head whispered in Scorpio's ear softly. "I have to do something. If anything happens to me, you're the new leader of the Zodiac Division." Scorpio gasped. "Wha- hey!!!" He shouted when Libra lunged forward to kill Kunzite. Shooting a power into his face, she managed to tackle him down and deliver a barrage of kicks to him. It was all the damage she would ever do as dozens of youma leaped onto her and started to eat her alive. Libra gave a scream of pain that was muffled by someone's flesh. A few moments later, the pain went away, and so did Libra's life. The youma helped Kunzite up. "Do you want us to kill the rest of them?" One asked. Kunzite gave a growl, clutching his face. "No. These three are part of the Zodiac Division. Strongest senshi in the silver millennium second only too the Sailor Senshi themselves. They will make great slaves for Queen Beryl." A youma smiled as she signaled to her team mates to knock out Scorpio, Taurus and Aquarius. The senshi, for their part, managed to sent dozens of youma to meet their makers before succumbing. Kunzite smiled at their limp bodies before going to the moon to join the winning side. ***************************************************************** Jene and Janet shout out of the hole, expecting to battle. They didn't find anyone. Quickly, the helped Cancer, Pisces Capricorn and Aries to get Sagittarius out of the hole. "Damn!!" Gemini2 shouted. "They moved the thing! Where is it?!" "Calm down, Sis." Janet advised, pointing to the grassy floor which had been scraped away where they had moved the teleporter too. "Just follow the dirty brick road." They made slow time as they followed the road, always checking around to make sure they weren't being stalked by any nasty things that might want them for breakfast. Finally, hours later, they found the teleporter. "Yes!!" Cancer cried, running up to the controls. "No!! They've trashed it!" "Fix it," Gemini2 advised. "This could take days..." "Just as fast at you can," Janet replied. The twins took up defensive positions as the rest of the Zodiac Division tried to repair the machine. Cancer was right. It took a total of 2 days before they managed to fix it. During those days, the Gemini twins were not happy campers, even when Sagittarius regained consciousness. "Why aren't there any youma?!" Sagittarius demanded the twins during their 32nd hour awake. "I don't know." Janet replied. "There should at least have been some activity, even if the teleporter is broken. Do you think Beryl sent everything she got to the moon?" "I sincerely hope not." Jene answered dully. "Where is Libra?!" Sagittarius demanded. "Oh, nothing like this would have happened if I didn't leave her in charge! I should have known better than to appoint her as second in command." "Shut up!!!" Jene shouted, finally taken enough of the man's bickering. "This is not her fault! If it's anyone's fault, it's yours!!" "How dare you-" "No," Jene shouted. "How dare YOU. Libra knew something was wrong, but no, you had to go make contact with Jedite, of whom we're not even sure was on our side at the time!!" "It's not-" "Yes it is your fault, old man!!" Jene continued. "All the lives we could have saved was all YOUR fault! Sailor Virgo, who died a hideous death, could be here right now, if you listened to Libra! Don't go telling me it's her fault! It's her doing that you're even alive now!!" Sagittarius opened and closed his mouth a few times as Jene stalked off, followed by Janet. "Got it!!" Cancer replied. "We're going to the moon." ***************************************************************** The Zodiac Division soon found out that the Moon Kingdom was as silent as a tomb. "My god..." Cancer whispered. "What happened here?" "I guess this means that Libra's mission failed..." Gemini2 said softly. "Then what happened to them?!" Gemini1 cried. She thought about it for a moment. "Oh god," she whispered, choking back a sob as she fell to her knees. Tears came to her eyes as thoughts of Scorpio came to her mind. "Look!" Cancer said, pointing to the sky. "What's that?!" A beautiful river of pink bubbles seemed to be running towards the Earth. Inside each bubble seemed to be a person, getting younger and younger inside. "If I didn't know better," Sagittarius whispered. "I'd say those were Reincarnation Bubbles. Queen Serenity's wand could do that with the help of the Imperial Silver Crystal." "But wouldn't that kill her?" Aries asked softly. Jene didn't stay to hear the answer. She had a sinking feeling something was very wrong as she leapt through the ruins. Everywhere she looked, there were collapsed buildings and fallen columns. Blood soaked everywhere turning the normally silver grass into a plain of red. ~The battle went on without us,~ Jene thought in horror. ~But shouldn't there be corpses or bodies, or maybe survivors around?! I don't see anyone! I can't even feel any of the Dark Kingdom's energy signature...~ Suddenly, Jene gave a gasped as she saw the Moon Palace, or what was left of it. In the courtyard, a body seemed to lie on a fallen pillar. Jene knew who it was. "Queen Serenity!!" ***************************************************************** A few minutes later, the Zodiac Division were gathered around their Queen's body. Janet was missing and she only came now, an object in her hands. Sagittarius gave a frown. "What is that?" "It looks like the Moon Wand," Janet replied, holding it up. "Encased inside a suspension capsule. There were two others like it, raising into the air, but they were already too far away and I couldn't catch them." Jene took the capsule and smashed into the glass, taking the wand out. "Alright...this is really, really strange and I for one would like some answers." Cancer motioned to the queen. "The only person who could help us is Queen Serenity, and she's...she's..." "Then we bring her back to life!" Jene replied. "I heard somewhere we could channel someone's energy into a person who just recently died, bring her back to life!" "Wouldn't that kill someone though?" Sagittarius snorted. "Usually," Jene replied. "But with all of us here, each giving a portion of our energy to Queen Serenity, we'll survive!" Sagittarius thought about it for a moment. "I think your theory is bogus. But it's the only thing we can do. Come. I believe I know the procedure." "You know?" Jene asked doubtfully. Sagittarius snorted. "Before I went into the Zodiac Division, I was the top Magic scholar in the galaxy, never to wield the power of a senshi. As compensation, I was given a full education in magic and it's powers." Sagittarius knelt before Queen Serenity, his palms hovering over her. Following his directions, the Zodiac Division placed their hands on his shoulders as he started to chant. After a few minutes of chanting, the senshi started to glow before a beam of power shot towards Serenity, making her glow. Then, after the glow faded, Jene found herself weaker than she ever remembered being. Looking at Serenity with tired eyes, she was shocked to see her chest rise up and down as she started to breathe again. Serenity opened her eyes and sat up slowly, moaning. "What happened?" She asked softly. "That, my queen," Sagittarius said. "Is what we'd like to know. Serenity looked at Sagittarius a few moments before her eyes opened wide with recognition. "The Zodiac Division!" She cried. ***************************************************************** Serenity explained what happened and then Sagittarius told her why she was still living. Halfway though the explanation, Jene stopped listening. ~Dead...~ She thought with horror. ~The Sailor Senshi...everyone! Dead...Makoto..." Jene closed her eyes and told herself to calm down. After all, they were being reborn, even if that's 10 000 years from now... "What are we going to do..." Cancer whispered after the explanations were done. "I...can send you after them," Serenity replied softly. "But it'll be more risky. "But you'd die again!" Cancer cried. Serenity gave a sigh. "That's what Luna and Artemis said. But I don't care. My time has come. You've only brought me back to delay the inevitable." Everyone was quiet as they thought of her words. "I don't even know if it'll work..." Serenity said softly. "What do you mean?" "The wand," Serenity replied. "Can only be used by the people of my family. It senses the person's aura signature, and if you're not a Serenity, then you can't use it." "Then what's the problem?" "Well," Serenity replied. "When you brought me back to life, you sent your energy into me. Now, all of your aura signatures will be in me. The wand might not listen to me. Even if it does, there is a chance, a large chance, that you won't be sent to the right place or time." Everyone was silent before Sagittarius spoke. "Then, we don't take the chance. If we aren't sent to the right destination, then we shall stay here with you, my Queen, for however long we have to live." Serenity smiled sadly. "I'm afraid you won't have a long time to live if you stay here... The battle did a lot of damage to our atmosphere and I don't think the oxygen you and I are breathing will be here for more than a few hours." Everyone was silent. Serenity spoke up again. "I want all of you to try the reincarnation bubbles. If you do make it...I want you all to protect Princess Serenity and her court, if you ever regain your powers..." The Zodiac Division slowly nodded, as they came to terms with their fates. "My Queen..." Jene said softly. "We'll do our best to try." Serenity nodded, summoning the power of the wand. "People," Cancer said as they braced themselves. "I just wanted to say...it's been great working with you all, even if we didn't always like each other...I just with the rest of us were here. What ever happened to them...I wish them luck." Janet looked to the ground and a few silent tears escaped her eyes. Sagittarius cleared his throat and everyone looked at him. "I just wanted to say...I'm sorry. For all the time I've been in the Zodiac Division...I've been an ass. All those years of treating you unfairly...I can only give your my apology, for all it's worth. I'm sorry." He looked over at Jene. "Gemini2, do you have anything you have to say?" Jene sighed. "I'd be lying if I said I forgive you, Sagittarius." She said bluntly. "But, you are well onto the road of forgiveness." Serenity summoned her bubbles and they closed in on the remaining members of the Zodiac Division. Jene wasn't sure who said it, but she thought it was Cancer, as she was enveloped into the pink bubble. "I hope to see you all in the next life." Then, no one knew anymore... Serenity collapsed, just as a capsule appeared around the wand and floated into the air. ~Protect...my...daughter...~ Serenity thought to the bubbles before going to heaven. ***************************************************************** Two bubbles appeared in the sky over Crystal Tokyo. They settled down on a grassy hill before fading away to show two identical looking babies. In each of their hands, was an eight pointed star with the symbol of Gemini on them. As Queen Serenity had predicted, the bubbles had not done their orders correctly, sending two of the Zodiac senshi too far into the future and not reincarnating them all the way. A few minutes later, Sailor Jupiter of the future came along and found the babies. "My god," she thought, picking one up in each arm. "What barbarian would just dump two babies in the middle of nowhere?!" Quickly, she took them back to the palace. *****************************************************************
