Christopher Lee was born in London, England on May 27, 1922. He was interested in performing at an early age, but it was not until 1948 that he finally turned professional. After having appeared in over 25 films, he was cast as the Creature in CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN. His relationship with Peter Cushing began with this film and continued until Peter's death in 1994.
After being cast as the Creature, he won the role of Dracula in Hammer Films' ground breaking horror film DRACULA. This role would be forever associated with him, so much so that until 1965 he declined any offers to repeat the role for fear of being typecasted. After returning to the role, he was cast in RASPUTIN-THE MAD MONK which has been said to be his strongest and most critically acclaimed roles. He later went on to appear in films, both mainstream and genre.
Christopher's other popular roles are The Mummy, Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes' brother Mycroft, Scaramanga and Fu Manchu. He continues to act in both films and television, although his appearances in television are rare.
