In this wasteland is a brilliant cybernetic scientist named Dr.Ido, who when one day, was sifting through the endless piles of junk, stumbles accross a wreckage of an old cyborg. Which for some strange reason had survived the waste disposal system. Dr.Ido spends countless hours repairing the cyborg in an attempt to fully restore it. He finally does what he set out to do, after the cyborg is finished we see that it is a little girl and her name is ALITA. But Dr.Ido is no ordinary scientist, by day he works repairing cyborgs, but by night he is a hunter warrior or bounty hunter, who is paid by the factory to bring in the Crimanals of the city, daed or alive. He also uses this to get the body parts that he needs to complete his cyborgs.
One day when doing his work Dr.Ido confronts a monster of a cyborg named Gariushka, who was built by Dr.Ido old friend Dr.Chiren. All doesn't seem to go to well for the doctor, when out of nowhere alita comes to his aid and nearly destroys Gariushka. It is then that the dr soon realises the true self of Alita and her full potential. Soon Alita befriends one of Dr.Ido's friends, he is a young boy named Yugo, who is set on trying to get to the city in the sky Zoron, which is a mid planet which uses the gravitational pull of the moon to keep it afloat and also huge steel ties which hold it to the earth. Zoron is a city where only the rich and deserved citizens go.
Soon we find that Gariushka returns to Dr.Chiren, and it is then that she hears about Alita, and then rebuilds Gariushka into an indestructible Cyborg. Who is sent to destroy Alita, after they meet it is then that they all see just how strong and powerful alita is, as she totally anhialates Gariushka. Soon Dr.Chiren joins up with a sly man named Baktar, who promises Dr.chiren a ticket to Zoron if she can get Alita. But soon Baktar has other ideas and gets Yugo to do his dirty deeds by stealing peoples body parts after killing them, it is then that he is foud out and has a bounty on him. Once Alita finds out she goes to his aid and it is then that we find that Alita likes Yugo more than just a friend. Soon later Yugo is killed by one of the hunter warriors, Alita is enraged and takes her revenge.
Alita after some time returns to Dr.Ido and tells him how she feels, it is then that she goes her own way, as a fearless bounty hunter and then onto be a champion Colleseum Fighter.
