We soon find out that this Renegade warrior is caled Orgun, he is a detonator unit from the EVOLUDER, who are a race of mechanical warriors who travel accross the solar system destroying everything they come accross. We find out that the evoluder have chosen there next target, this target is earth. In the city a powerful supercomputer caled I-ZACK soon begins to finish Orgun off as the last of the signals from the moon reaches him. With the help of the Beatiful Professor Kanzaki, who helped with the construction.
Then the first machine from the battle planet Zoma (the Evoluder home world) soon reaches earth and it is up to the EDF to deal with it. But it is then that they find they are no match for this machine, it is then that it goes on the rampage and wrecks havoc upon the city, all the time it seems that this machine is searching for something. It is searching for Orgun. Soon Tomoru meets up with Kanzaki, after they try to get to the EDF building it is then that this machine attacks them both, in a vision he sees the orgun unit which tells him that he is the only one who can pilot it, and that he is there in search of something, something that he has lost. And so Tomoru begins on an adventure, more than he could of ever imagined.
No sooner as Tomoru begins to learn more about Orgun, then more machines come to earth, this time its one of Orguns past comrades RANGU, who orgun must battle, using all of this courage and strength. But Rangu takes his toll on Orgun and before Rangu can take his final revenge, Leave a female unit rescues Orgun and ultimately the city. It is then that Tomoru must unlock the secrets which Orgun has hidden away in his memory, as the Battle planet is on its way to earth. He must unlock the power of the Evoluder, the solid armour which would help the people of earth, putting them on level terms with the evoluder.
We find out that the Evoluder are nothing more than the future of the human race as, they were the original people who were sent on the CYGNULIGHT PLAN. Who were sent to discover about the great Gravitational fields around the planet Cygnus. They had to change due to the emence pressures which were imposed on there bodies so they developed a strong outer armour. In the 3 months that it would take for the battle planet to reach earth, they must build up an army of Solid armour units so that they may stand some chance of winning.
When the 3 months finally finishes and the battle planet reaches earth, the planet has a force of solid armour units which it uses to battle against the Evoluder, we find that there is one human still in her original form, Lady Meek the leader of the Evoluder, soon sees that there is something on earth that they, the evoluder have lost. Also that there is something on the planet, which will not let them destroy it. But Zoa, the captain of the Evoluder has other plans and continues with the plan to destroy earth. It is now that Tomoru and Orgun must save the planet using all of there might and courage in a last ditch attempt to overcome all hardships and win the battle.
Combining red-hot mecha action with stunning animation and technical design. Detonator Orgun is science-fiction anime at its best. The battle for earth is about to begin.
