A small village in rural Japan called Shimoda, which comes under the influence of a devastating plague which kills everyone. A nearby ninja clan called the Koga ninja clan, hear of this news and send out a team of ninjas to find out what is going on. But when they are investigating, the team is practically wiped out by an immencely powerful ninja named Teassai, who is able to change his body to rock. Kills all but one of the ninjas. The only survivor is a female ninja named Kagero. He then takes her away to a cabin, were Jubei is sitting. It is then that Jubei rescues Kagero from the clutches of this monster. Tessai, seeks his revenge by catching up on Jubei, hell bent on killing him, but it is then that jubei shows what type of ninja he is and kills Tessai. Unknown to him, as soon as Tessai was kiled he would become a marked man by the 8 DEVILS OF KIMON, who consist of Gemma, Benisato, Mujuro, Mishizo, Shijima, Zakuro, Yukimara, Tessai(whos dead now). He is then drawn into a web of tretchary which surrounds a plot by the shogun of the dark to overthrow the present government. This would threaten Jubei's ways and ultimately his life.
Soon Jubei comes accross an old man named Dakuwan, who through some persuasion gets Jubei to join him in his attempt to kill the 8 devils of Kimon. After many battles in which Jubei fights against each of the Devils, he soon becomes aware that his old friend who he killed, was still alive. Gemma, who has mastered the art of reincarnation will sure be the final battle for Jubei. But soon as they reach the port they are ambushed and Kagero is tricked by Gemma, and killed. This enrages Jubei who kills evryone. He then must fight his worst enemy, a man for whom death holds no fear. A man who has the power to destroy Jubei's world forever. this battle would deside the fate of Japan.
